So just because you have not seen someone buy rating in 10 years means it doesn’t happen.

You are wrong.

He’s 16-19 in 3s. There are a lot of possible explanations for that other than ā€œgit gud,ā€ and his 2s and 3s record combined puts him at 97-91 (52%). Personally I couldn’t care less about people’s arena MMR and W/L, but if you’re going to try to insult him, at least take an accurate perspective on his arena progress.

Insult after insult and all because I asked a simple question. Why? The only 3s I’ve done all season was a triple dps group. But again why is arena rating your measurement for someone being good at pvp?

Honestly this mythotaur guy seems to be trolling you into getting upset. His passive aggressive taunts towards your arena is laughable

I dont like rated arenas because of guys like this not because i am lacking the confidence tools to own him and do well ; i just like to have fun and debating ā€œskillā€ with a toxic teammate or oppoent isnt fun and might trigger my anger management issues

I will reiterate that everyone can contribute some more than others but no need to insult unless you need to feel better about yourself

U talking about piloting or carry? Coz theyve become pretty good at detecting piloting from what ive heard.

Arena is who can play FOTM better than the other guys and World PVP is way funner in my opinion because it’s not really skilled based but taking advantage of all the world utilities that people usually don’t use to take down groups of same leveled guys by yourself is very satisfying compared to sitting in arena hitting eachother over and over for 15 minutes repeating the same strats ect

Arena is measured by rating. WPVP is not. Because one can use rating to measure Arena success, it means that players at high arena rating are among the best of their peers in Arena.

WoW does not have a rating to measure WPVP. So there is no means of comparison between the two. Until there is, one’s attempt to compare a player good at WPVP and a player good at Arena is pointless, unless you have a set of restrictions in place by means to base your comparison on. Eg. environment, skills available, trinkets available, gear level, player level, visibility, etc.

On a separate note, it does take a certain amount of class knowledge and coordination to play arena to high rating, and I respect players who climb to the very top in Arena, because this means they have spent time and effort to learn the ins and outs of not only their own class/spec, but others as well.

Having said that, Arena is certainly dominated by certain fotm comps/specs between season to season. If someone rode a fotm class or spec to Gladiator it diminishes the value of the title compared to another Gladiator who achieved that in a less favored class/spec.

Well said!

What I do know is percival and myself came out in a twitch live stream from a streamer who plays a rogue in 2’s…his holy pally partner had low hp and half his rating.

I prefer solo wpvp because I enjoy the immersion of being a jungle cat stalking and slaying humanoids (this means killing Horde, until I can serve N’Zoth next patch) for their crimes against nature.

It doesn’t require voice comms, which breaks said immersion. Nothing gets me to quit wow faster than hearing other people breathing in my ear. With voice comms, we all become filthy humans sitting in chairs playing video games. I prefer to be a jungle cat, killing you and your friends.

Sincerely,

What about Marvel’s Daredevil?

I hope the development of this thread didn’t happen because it’s at the end of the season and no one is caring anymore. I’m not looking at, even with my third eye, my commentary on 8.3 PvP unless it’s in the capacity of a military advisor. I already know what’s going to happen so no repeat remarks, heh. It was never my intention to get ugly, but it’s ugly out in the streets.

@Nomak It’s December, and if you know your GoT…

Speaking of freezing, I’m surprised no one is actually discussing about WINTERING their PvP until SLs. Who wants to deal with Destro comps in fully decked out Corrupted gear?

…

That’s what I thought. But we PvP globetrotters will remember to respect the quantifier of skill, just about as much as we respected Floyd Mayweather Jr. in his fight vs. Manny Pacquaio. :joy:

I hear you. I don’t want to become the target of someone’s anxiety and I don’t like losing; I can handle it but I remember years ago people would get so upset over losses. Bleh.

There are so many cryptic arena ā€œcall outā€ forum topics which are simply toned down to avoid silences banter between sore losers and bad winners.

These folks just don’t seem to be having a good time, even if they put their ā€œI am one scary arena dudeā€ persona out there.

It’s really just some loser who needs to be feel better about themselves over a video game

Your 1600 and I guarantee you’ve never been in a high dampening game. The reason arena requires skill is because it’s tuned better. The more balanced the game the easier it is to beat someone based ability rather than abusing mechanics. There are no toys, gliders, hearthstones, cds that are longer than the actual arena, or uneven matchups. Dampening exists to avoid players from abusing class mechanics like infinite sustain. That only leads to more skill being required to win. Wpvp doesn’t require skill. It requires farming toys, buying gliders, and playing the right class.

Once again, he never said arena doesn’t take skill nor did he say arena players aren’t skilled. What is in question is why every time there is an argument, be it in wPVP or BG, the arena player almost always falls on the ā€œyou’re not an X rated arena player so you’re not good at PVPā€.

High rated arena players are always criticizing other players based on rating regardless of which type of pvp is being played. I’ve been called garbage because my ratings aren’t high or my win loss ratio is low just because I made a comment in a WSG BG ā€œdon’t go GY because their entire team is thereā€. I was then whispered by the supposed high rated player and insulted about my comments and ratings.

So again, why is the barometer of a good PVPer made using ratings? How does my rating indicate how good or bad I am at wPVP or in BGs?

Wait what? Hahahaha lolololol sorry dude but how can anyone take a statement like this serious. Of course wPVP takes skill no less than arena.
