Lets say that Bliz added High Elf’s as a allied race.
The only way to get this allied race is to do a new instance on mythic and kill the final boss, and it is estimated by blizz that it will take 1 and a half months of killing this boss to get the number of kills required to meet the rep requirement .
“WOW” you say “it will be hard work but ill do it”
then one day you notice on week 2 that their are suddenly high elf players.
“WTF” you say “what ever ill get it too eventually”
then you find out those people use this new thing bliz added called Sandwiching and they “sandwiched jumped” back and forth to kill the last boss 200 times in one day.
Then bliz fixed it and now no one can do it what will happen to those that cheat
who knows? but you go on with your grind
you slack a bit because you know you will get it eventually but then bilzz says “hey all you guys and gals how’s it going we are during phase 2 of the high elf event” “now all the current highelfs get a special thing they can do, any time they kill a non high elf player it lowers their progress to unlocking high elf’s by 1 after all being as highelfs are rare it should be hard to become one”

It gets awfully boring at the top. Somehow I don’t think the type of people who exploit a game for instant gratification are the type to stick around when it’s luster wears off.
It’s almost like this is an mmo where everything that is available (and how much of it) as well as what other people buy (or steal by layering) impacts the value of everything else 
This is a videogame. If it’s your life, you’re doing life wrong.
It’s not my life. I actually don’t have lots of time to play. But when I do play, the goal is to be immersed. I’m not just trying to do brain dead button mashing. Lots of games for that. Vanilla was designed specifically to not be that.
