An Argument for Night Elf Shamans

If dranei/orcs got those mushroom whale forms from draenor that would be cool.

That sounds just as bad as FF14 and their players being the “warrior of light” tbh.

Did you not pay attention?

They said that all races will get all classes, some will just take longer than others like Shamans and Paladins which all have uniqe racial flair bits. Specifically the totems and quest weapons/chargers respectively, and yes, the totems are an indepth process as they have completely unique assets and effect animations.

Didnt read a word other than title, at this point, sure why not. Lore has been so destroyed, who cares.

As much we know with Rala. But in her conversations, she talks about primal forces, so she likely has a connection with one just like the Broken Draenei tribe with some Draenor animals.

It will happen eventually, these are not bad takes for it.

omg the thing on the left could be their boomkin :100:

I was seeing some nice science videos online. They explained that the earth had a bunch of big fungi/mushrooms on the earth, before any plants started growing in the earth. The fungi basically broke the rocks and started making the earth habitable for life by essentially making soil.

So from like a druidic perspective, I think it would be nice to explore very primal druidism through mushroom magic and lore/forms.

Marasmius from the shadowlands was like there before the winter queen. And ardenweald is like heavily nature themed. I think it would be nice to see the fungal beings shown as like some of the first druidic forces of the world. It’s crazy how Marasmius and his network predate the winter queen and he was just like in those lands chilling before the first ones made the winterqueen.

So that’s a nice avenue for like new/ primal types of druidism. Since the night elves taught teachings of cenarius. Shadowlands showed us druidism is on different planets not known to azerothians as followers of Elune, using elune magic (moon). Cenarius is the son of Elune and Malorne. Why Elune got with a Stag I do not know though.

That’s a good point.

Eh… that’s almost as bad as Draenei Warlocks, but not quite. lol

That’d be sick ngl.

I can see an “Elementalist” type of caster, that is a Shaman in everything but name, available to any race that can have mages.

In many games, mages also use lightning magic, so it’s not a huge stretch.

Exactly Garrosh hellscream could never had become a druid he doesn’t have the magical aptitude to do so and his culture flat out had zero needs for Druids.

I would leave your speculation as true, but do not support anything to a tabloid youtubers who thinks that we are idiots to trust Blizzard today but bring it yes or no a good expansion now.

(looks at Nelf Mages)

it’s complicated… :frowning:

Blizzard makes it hard to trust in general with a lot of things that happen, like in overwatch 2 scummy monetization right now. But you either play or you don’t. It is nice to see lore speculation though from people that enjoy the story. Wow has some big ways to add lore. Like in shadowlands. It was nice to see basically aliens from other worlds all in one afterlife. Like some of the night warriors. I am interested to see there original races. They had Elune worship. And we know loa go to different planets. Like the orc wolf god is logash/goldrinn depending on which planet you are from.

Cenarius is the son of Malorne (seems to be a wildgod/loa and elune. They seem to have a weird power level gap from wild god to Elune. So it would be interesting to see that explored more in the cosmic scale. If druidism is on different planets. In lore night elves showed us to be druids through cenarius, but we see that it was something learned across the cosmos with the same elune worship.

dragonflight is the last expansion no need for night elf shamans.

Actually this is not entirely correct. Gilnean harvest witches had no connection to the emerald dream, they only knew minor nature magics. You can just retcon that part in, like they did with worgens with the curse and scythe of elune. You can also make a strong case for blood elven druidic magic with the rangers…. Rangers have literally been seen using entangling roots and talking to trees and nature. They also have their own unique tree elementals in Quel’thalas.

Hm. I don’t know. I do know why humans should be able to be Shamans at least… because both Varian Wrynn & Thrall are voiced by the same guy. j/k.

And they aren’t Druids. They were considered Primitive Nature users. So it is correct.

No you really can’t. They force Nature to work for them through Arcane. And when it’s not being done the way they want or when the job is done, that Nature gets discarded. It’s seen in quests.
