An Alternate Series of Events

No, that’s not why we went to Pandaria. Theramore was to get the Alliance ‘more invested’ in the war that they were already invested in. We went to Pandaria because a random naval battle off the coast of Theramore wandered off and drove the ships aground in an uncharted land. Anduin was on one of those ships and the Horde wanted to capture Anduin. That’s still a perfectly valid reason for them both to go to Pandaria, and I already outlined in my post that Garrosh sees the value in a new land with more resources, and presumably the Alliance would want to stop the Horde from getting those resources too. It doesn’t require full-blown war because according to Blizzard we weren’t even in full-blown war in the Cata era, only in BFA. And also note that I never said the faction war wasn’t existing in this period. It still exists, but with less emphasis on Alliance losing so much territory to Horde specifically which creates a lot of animosity about the story even to this day.

Want to get rid of all those ‘Sylvanas is evil’ and ‘The Horde are morally reprehensible and should all be wiped out’ posts? This would’ve been a way to achieve that.

And in my post I detailed that the infinite dragonflight is behind it. That’s the cause.

This is why your Butterfly Effect analogy doesn’t work, because realistically the retcons that WoW has already made should trigger the Butterfly Effect but they haven’t because the authors can simply say ‘No, it happened in the same or a very similar way’.
