Nah, theyll just force it on everyone like every world changing raid end we’ve gotten. Everyone got forced to see the reality tear after tomb, every could see the seat of the pantheon hole after antourous, everyone got the sha infested version of the vale and then the cleansed as a phase in bfa.
Once you beat the raid, a new quest opens up with a chain where you watch Amirdressil enter the world.
In the game, this is a whole new zone that phases in with less bloom and green filters. It’s a giant empty zone of the tree, without the raid and a bunch of the outer islands. There are no NPCs, no mobs, no plants or ores or anything. It’s completely barren.
You can still access the Emerald dream zone through the portal at the borough.
Those are all phased. So you’re asking Blizz, who is currently pushing out lazy small content, to phase that place if people finished the Emerald Dream.
I just don’t see them doing it. Maybe they’ll surprise me, but it’s just a worthless twig in the ground bound to one single expansion that we’ll never go back to again.
It is phased, see my above post.
Oh, this is in the game right now? I haven’t heard anyone mention this nor seen news on it.
Yep it is. It’s labelled “Amirdrassil” instead of “emerald dream” on the map.
its totally lifeless ironically lol
it is an extra zone - the hub for 10.2, the raid, all the WQs and events stay in the emerald dream.
Source: beat raid last night
Well, they surprised me then by phasing it in. lol
But yeah… still a useless zone and a forgotten twig in the ground.
In addition to what Psede said above, many have postulated it based on the big obvious empty space that was fairly obviously meant for it on the map for a long time, some even showing how a teldrassil (using the exact map image for it) would fit perfectly in that space, such as
Keep in mind the scaling is way off on those maps— and what was actually supposed to be in game.
But moot point. Nelf twig is there to be forgotten forever. lol
The hilarious part of all of this is that Teldrassil was a small continent in the sky with its own ecosystem and branches the size of kingdoms. Actual lore description there.
So unless the dragons are okay with another small continent overshadowing half of their isles… I’m guessing that thing is never growing any larger.
True, whoever made that obviously photoshopped it in and such as said.
That said they have had that area of the map big and empty for awhile with the apparent intent to put ‘something’ there later.
And that area is about the right size for the tree as depicted in the 10.2 zone, if not large as Teldrassil was in the lore. That said, the Night Elf capital in the tree was a relatively small portion of the traverseable inside pre-BFA, so the new size could likely be large enough for an equivalent size city, if they were going to put them there.
Now I want to go to the roller skating rink.
I honestly would be surprised if they did anything else after this. Phasing in the empty zone is less work than building anything else. Especially when we’ll never go back there again.
Amirdrassil is like 1000 times smaller than Teldrassil. They could build around it, but why bother? It’ll be an old expansion in a year.
Through the Emerald Dream. Please keep up.
Scores of ideas indeed!
purchases sticks and marshmellows and lighter fluid
When you finish the campaign, it’s physically in the Dragon Isles.
On one hand I completely agree with you, as short of temporarily reusing some zones (N’Zoth invasions in BFA) Blizzard hasn’t really ever touched content on older expansions maps (putting cata old world revamp aside)
But on the other hand, I do believe they are trying to tell a story, and a world tree is ‘too big’ of an element to simply discard just because it is on a specific expansions map.
So in the end we will have to wait and see which may be.
Yeah, you’re not wrong. I’m just a bit jaded. It sucked watching the Forsaken and Nelf lose their cities, only to be relegated to some stories, without actually getting their physical cities back.
The Forsaken didn’t lose anything.
Sylvanas flooded the pool with Lime Jello, I mean plague.
Did you do the quest for the Dark Ranger outfit for hunters? It has us going into Maldraxus and borrowing some slime eaters to get rid of the evil Jello. The Forsaken are getting Lorderon back. Probably cleaner than it was before too.
The Alliance is the only faction to lose five cities.
Stormwind, the first time, then it got rebuilt, the rich jerks didn’t pay the masons guild, so they became the Defias.
Lorderon, First Arthus killed his dad, scourge came in and went to town (literally), Sylvanas eventually takes the city, but only after breaking a verbal contract with an Alliance official in regards to returning it to the humans.
Gilneas, Sylvanas again, with Garrosh. It’s a whole thing. It ends up being sacked and ruined.
Theramore, The Horde decided to use a WMD/Arcane bomb. Killing Ronan in the process.
Darnassus, The Orcs, Undead and Blood Elves decided to commit genocide and murder a whole city full of civilians via a lot of fire.
If we’re keeping score. The Alliance gets dibs on the next 3-4 city burnings.
I did the quest. Afterward we still cannot enter UC and it’s not completely back to normal. Plus now we have to take the bronze dragon three times to get back to the original UC.
They lost two.
You still have it.
Belonged to the old Alliance who were killed off and became the Forsaken. It’s their city.
Given back to the Alliance in patch 9.2.5.
The only lost ones but we didn’t maintain control of these either.
Stormwind was sacked and burned before in the First War. The Stormwind we have now, is new…ish.
Seriously look it up.
