People not being able to play the game they pay for gives them the right. Why would you defend a company for providing crap servers?
Interestingly, so does the content.
I love all the highly qualified out of work engineers who know so much better than a corporation with hundreds of at-work engineers that’s been doing this for 15 years.
You are all a huge belly laugh you know. It’s like taking life advice from a high school dropout.
Guys, guys, its only been 16 years. Its not like theyve had time to gauge how many players they have, or the server stresses…
I had zero issues. The benefits of being on a low pop server. I was logged in shortly after the maintenance was over and queued for BG.
Lets ignore the last decade and a half of WoW expansion introductions. Lets just focus on the last two weeks. They have data of how many, and what times people are flooding in. You are a company that makes money hand over fist. Upgrade yo crap! So lets compare notes from how many are trying to get on during prime time raiding days and hours. 8-11pm EST. Tuesdays and Thursdays. By far the most populated days… Are you following me here?
SWTOR has great server tech and lets be honest they really aren’t using it anymore. maybe blizzard could buy it off of EA/disney and put it into wow
Sometimes, I think waaaaaay back to when I worked a customer-facing tech role. Maybe…maybe it wasn’t that bad? Maybe I’d overblown my sheer hatred of and frustration with talking to the general public about complex issues while they screamed their heads off?
I like to come to these places to be reminded of why I took a NOC role that has practically 0 human contact outside of field techs…or when I have to call Zayo and do their job for them since they apparently don’t know where their own fiber is located.
Anywho, these threads and the Blizzard CS Twitter thread go a long way towards reminding me that I’m no longer rocking a blood pressure of 180/120 from sheer work stress, and no amount of money would be enough to accept the higher level Eng position I was offered on the customer-facing fiber team. I have to admit, however; seeing different versions of ‘why can’t you just’ all through this thread is giving me a few work PTSD flashbacks. shudder
Much appreciation to you guys for helping me get my head back on straight. =D
You should see the crap show they call databanks where I work.

Aion had like 7 players, no one asked her.
so true its sad
Why would they, you’re paying them either way
It’s like people haven’t been on during a patch launch before.
I don’t think the tos prohibits complaining.
I also don’t have an issue with the maintenance. The lag impacting playability is a different story, and it’s certainly not unreasonable to expect them to deliver quality service in that area.
We asked for her because apparently blizz servers are worse than a game 8 years ago.
