Am worried about Rogue for TBC Raids

You’re making a really big assumption that the melee penalty is not going to factor in that situation.

You might see like MAYBE a few more encounters where Cleave is a factor.

Still, that doesn’t really apply to Rogues. Blade Flurry has a 2 minute cooldown I think. That doesn’t sound very compelling for speedruns or parses at this point. And, I really doubt that most PuGs will donate raid slots to Rogues for that reason.

I’m not saying no. But, I’m definitely not saying yes.

Wowza! Didn’t think I’d get this many comments or so much feedback. After talking with my classic guildies (Some of whom im gonna play with) and reading up on rogue, Ima go ahead and stay with the class. I’m good at it and it’s my favorite in game, so I’m gonna stick with it regardless of whether its FoTM for BC or not.

enhance sham is good dps in tbc and everyone always wants a shaman for wf

melee sucks in TBC

If you say so.

Why do you post stuff like this? Why are there so many people who post stuff like this?

You’re basically saying that actually understanding how DPS works is not important. What matters is logs from private servers. What matters is moving the goal post to make a pointless argument seem valid.

Enslave, Spell Steal, Cleave, Lust Stacking, False Uptime, Mind Control, etc, those are all forms of shenanigans.

How is this useful? How do you not see the disparity between what’s being shown and a real break down of DPS?

This stuff has been simmed for years and years and years. This is totally irrelevant.

No hey, keep basing your ‘rogues won’t be taken’ on T4 numbers. Those three rogues doing 4K? That’s on Kiljaeden, not Azgalor.

False Uptime(obviously because it’s Kil’Jaeden.
Private server data.

Do I need say more?

I didn’t say Rogues are horrible. I said that they are not top DPS.

Locks have always been good in arena, and were in several of the best arena combos (SP/Lock, Lock/War/Druid, Lock/Hunter/Priest (drain comp), Lock/Druid, etc.)

They’re like rogues for pve, guilds will bring 1-2 but not a bunch (but that’s true of most dps classes since the group is smaller and you want to get a variety of buffs/debuffs)

I think the video shows that rogues are great DPS, in SWP with both warglaives and DST. I don’t think many people would dispute that. There’s no guarantee they’ll get warglaives and DST though.

There’s also the fact that there’s not a lot of room/spots in the melee group in your run of the mill TBC raid, especially if they jam the prot and ret pally (for sanctity) in there.

I think rogues are good, but they’re really nothing special for PvE until late game and they have 2 legendaries and a DST that everyone else is also going to want. But kicks are great, stuns are great, someone needs to take the rogue gear, and everyone wants to be friends with the rogue who’ll carry them in arenas.

Rogues don’t suck, they’re just nowhere near as powerful as they are now and the hunters are going to have their day in the sun.

This is like the entire secret to having a raid spot.

Prot pally goes in the tank group with the ret. Throw in a lock for BP and a resto shaman and you’re golden.
Meelee group spots are for the hance sham and the feral druid + 3 other meelee (likely your arms warrior + 2 rogues)

6 months of farming gruul is alot of attempts at DST’s. You shouldnt realyl need more than 6-7 as there is other suitable options.

Yes you will be sitting on Naxx for a year

Plenty of time for me to catch up
