Am I the only one excited for 8.1?

You can’t even grind M+ for azerite gear. We’re getting a certain amount in cache each week depending on highest key completed and nothing more. It will remain just as difficult to get from mythic plus, perhaps even moreso.

This is a big issue with blizzard and honestly anything in today world. Not to bring politics into it, but to bring politics into it, its the best example. If you criticize anything, people take it as a personal offense now.

Like its a very valid opinion to say, Blizzard is probably in the worst state is has been in since WoD, and i believe this because x y z. Now you dont have to agree with that, but the person saying that is clearly not on an island, as there are many people who also feel that x y z are a problem.

Imagine this: Nearly 4 million unique player-characters are active on the M+ leader board. M+ is a niche part of WoW and not everyone runs dungeons. Now, imagine the amount of casuals, raiders, and PvP players on top of those. “wow is dying”

I dont like m+ either but the season 2 bwonsamdi affix does sound interesting.

Agree.
If anything, M+ saved it from dying. MDI had more audience than the Arena Invitational.

I’m ambivalent. On one hand I get Ignore Pain off the GCD, on the other my Shammy gets a massive nerf to his PvP talents with no compensation.

Mythic + is a boon to the game for sure, what annoys the crap outta me with it, is that i find that blizzard needs to itemize their gear better in raids, as I and several other members of our raiding team are stuck in 340 items despite doing heroic Uldir, because the only thing thats an upgrade is the 370 version of our 340 items.

But thats not really a problem with M+ thats just blizzard not putting good gear in raids.

Its s step in the right direction for prot warriors, still does not address the elephant in the room of the lack of damage mitigation we have, but at least we dont play like total butt now.

I am still subbed to the game, which means i haven’t completely given up hope on positive changes. The new warfront has an interesting hero feature, but I doubt it actually changes what is wrong with the mode - a boring pve slagfest that is impossible to lose and does not challenge us in any way, shape or form.

I also am hopeful that the protwar changes pushes us back as competitive tanks - ignore pain should’ve been off GCD from the start, no idea why they waited this long to implement this.

Again thats because uldir has horribly itemized gear for most classes. Were for most people their best stats are haste crit and mastery, and there is few pieces that actually have haste, crit/mastery. As i said earlier, the only things that are upgrades to me, are 370 versions of the 340s i have from dungeons. Because blizzard managed to screw classes up so bad this exp, in all my years playing never have i seen a secondary stat give more damage then a primary stat. Which is the case for haste over str.

There is way too much truth in this post.

gj, bliz. /s

This thread is more optimistic than I’m used too given what forum I’m on.

Are you guys OK?

Which pisses me off because what that really means is, no matter what gear comes out in the future, because blizzard ALSO removed tier sets, i will be forever doomed to constantly do the same dungeons over and over on higher mythic levels because the only item that will be better for me, is going to be the same freaking item but from a higher level mythic.

I’m excited for some things in 8.1 like new Hpally animations, the new raid, and more story progression.

The vendors they are adding are definitely a plus but not exactly exciting. Finally being able to target your BiS azerite piece will be nice but the azerite system as a whole is a complete mess and I hope they continue to iterate on it (because let’s be real we’re stuck with it for the rest of the expansion).

I am also excited about all the new mounts that are coming and the updates to Islands are nice as well.

They really need to find a way to itemize dungeons and raids that benefit said content directly. Gear from m+ should be really good in m+ and less universally applicable. The same can be said for raid-gear. They need to stop being bashful about putting RPG elements into the game for the sake of balance purity.

Items gathered from doing M+ should absolutely benefit you in m+
Items gathered you in raids should absolutely benefit you in raids
Items gathered in PvP should absolutely benefit you in PvP

They should be middle ground transferable and usable across platform, but they should NOT be optimal.

It’s human nature to want advantages for working towards a goal and being successful. This gear-purity they are striving for that works equally well across all levels of the game is what kills the fun of it for many.

I agree, but as i said in a post just before you posted this. Since they removed tier gear from the game, i will never have a reason to do the new raids, and im doomed to constantly do the same mythic + over and over because i just need a better version of the same item. Thats a broken system. Removal of tier gear was a mistake.

What is wrong with healer balancing, specifically? Disc is being brought to reasonable margins, and HPriest doesn’t have to mindless spam Binding Heal anymore. The main thing I don’t like is Resto Druids getting a sizeable Tranq nerf, and the buff to Wild Growth isn’t enough to make up for it. Apart from that, everything is welcome! Especially Shaman, who profoundly deserve a buff.

Im pretty happy to see prot war getting buffed. Exp nerf means i will level more allied races for the heritage set. Zandalari will be playable eventually. Better loot drop in expeditions. New raid soon. Rep and azerite power catch up.

Seems good to me.
