Luckily that’s no longer the case. I have had 2 new level 60’s enter ZM, get their 265 belt, then have one of my others swap their cosmic flux for Soul Ash and Soul Cinders, then go to Korthia and do the exchanges there to pass it on to my new 60’s. Each one only had to do Torghast once to get the Runecrafter to let them make the legendary.
I hated it until recently. It was utter crap when it first launched. Just like the Maw, it had a bunch of mechanisms that honestly served no purpose except pissing the player off. It also lacked a good variety of powers and scenery (still does on that last part).
It’s waaaaaaay better now, but it’s one of those “a little too late” things.
Yes OP. In fact you’re the only one who plays wow.
The anima powers bother me because the dev time would’ve been better spent elsewhere. Fix the classes instead of these temporary abilities hidden in one specific area of one expansion. Torghast is more fun than the maw for farming souls to upgrade my covenant sanctum, but that means basically nothing because the maw is my least favourite zone in the entire game by a long shot. Torghast is almost as bad as the maw.
I been in there alot in Season 2 for friends. But I avoided Torghast period. At least the currency increase makes it more tolerable. But generally I can’t stand the place.
Yeah, that addition was great. Would have been better if they had the mats drop similar to how Zereth Mortis mats drop so we were collecting while leveling or doing world quests.
Torgassfart will just be chalked up as another fail gimmick.
I don’t run Torghast all the time but when I do its pretty fun. Spammin CHONKY condemns on warrior, deleting bosses with earth shock on ele, or getting a bige doggo as bm hunter are all pretty cool. I do wish there was more stuff that was somewhat useful there though. Aside from a few cool mogs and in earlier patches, soul ash / cinders, theres not much reason to go there beyond its fun.
It is boring and I totally avoid it.
No, I think you’re the only one who thinks that.
I liked it. Something this game does well is combat, and this is 20 minutes of that. It’s a lot like running a dungeon but solo, and sometimes that feels fresh. I think it was a Blizzard success but it fell victim to social media. I hope there will be an equivalent to Toghast in DF. Still I wouldn’t run it all day, so linking it to a one time legendary crafting was wise.
Like dang, I thought 9.0 was a long time ago.
I enjoy it. Way better than visions. That being said I’d still rather just play BG’s/m+/raids as those are all more enjoyable. If only I could commit to a raid team.
torghast is fun but only for collecting.
Plenty of people disliked Torghast, at least at 9.0’s launch.
Now? I don’t know, the entire place is a lot better.
Honestly really sad they abandoned it.
It has potential to be the best single player experience this game has to offer.
Instead its just this boring forgotten blob of a feature.
I wouldn’t have minded torghast if i wasn’t required to do it for pvp
Torghast in its current form with the ability to purchase cinders and ash for flux earned from pvp and enlightened rep would have made me enjoy doing torghast on my free time of my own will
But having to do two wings of torghast every tuesday on reset on multiple characters as a chore to not fall behind because of timegates and how massive the stat disparity was between the ranks and then not even being able to experiment with different legendaries because you were capped on how many you could make per week really soured the whole thing for me
6 floors was way too long. This character had 5 or 6 235 legendaries in season 1 just because i wanted to try different builds and different covenants in pvp that no one else was bothering to test and the implementation was just overall really lame and punishing for daring to go against icyveins

I only did it for about a month. Hated it.
I’m spending my time now on all the Nat Pagle/fishing content I never did until now. I find it relaxing
I’ve actually stopped going there unless I have something I need from it. I can get my 20 souls pretty fast without having to deal with the Maw, which I dislike intensely.
My ele spec does fairly well, especially using the special powers I can use to my advantage. But I find it infinitely more interesting (sometimes fun) going through it with friends.
Otherwise, I stay clear. Its a shame they did not use it as an alternative to dungeon or raid runs by including some decent rewards outside of anima and such. I don’t find “difficulty” to be fun, but I do find making it more enjoyable to find new things and gain new rewards.
