Is it too petty to want to swap off from Oracle due to the visuals? (the glowing eyes and such)
I wouldnt mind these if they only were active during combat, but theyre active 24/7.
I played Holy Archon in previous seasons and i would say i did alright with it, despite Oracle largely being considered the better Hero Tier, and i can def see why, if you know how to use all the different buffs it has, i would say i can do so without a WA’s help now, having gotten used to what each symbol means.
But man, those glowing effects irk me when trying to go for certain looks and transmogs.
No I despise the glowy eye visuals too. I’m running VW Disc over that for one of those reasons. Even though Oracle sounds fun in Midnight, may stick with VW if they don’t ditch that garbage design.
It annoyingly clashes with my mogs.
Funny enough Premonition is being removed in favor of two PoMs. So the way I see it the symbols are pretty meaningless next expansion.
Not at all. I have an alt of every spec and simultaneously of every hero class… except oracle, because I currently don’t have a priest I can comfortably classify as that “blinded by the light.”
My designated holy priest is archon, and both my disc priest and shadow priest are voidweavers, for conceptual reasons. Priest is one class I’m not interested in a 4th of, so I’ll probably remain “oracle-less” until that mandatory visual concept imposition can be turned off somehow.
I don’t hate the idea, it’s basically the inverse to shadow form which no one plays as optional. I just don’t have a character that fits that visual concept, and won’t force it on the priests I have.
So no, you’re not crazy. Hold blizzard responsible for keeping whatever hero talent you wish to use good enough for the content you want to play, and carry on! I salute your commitment to character concept!
Probably not a comparable…umm…comparison (?)…but in Lightsmith you can mog your weapon to hide enchants. This way, it doesn’t show the enchant you put on it, which is from the Lightsmith hero talents.
Would be cool if you could similarly remove a hero-talent based visual effect like that.
Yeah im aware since i tank as Prot, it almost made me swap cause it was far worse than Oracle with the glowy weapon, but then i realized i could hide it with transmog, which helped.
I feel that simply hiding Oracle’s effect when out of combat would be a nice option.
If a spec or hero class doesn’t fit with my characters flavor, theme, vibe, archetype, etc. I have a hard time playing it.
I was really enjoying casual play on my hunter, who I made as a dark ranger Sylvanas clone simp and then they reworked MM and gave them eagles. My hunter was supposed to be bone dogs and black magics. So now she is a BM hunter and is just there to look pretty in the log in menu.
My priest is mainly void but I also heal as disc for fast queues and instantly getting invites for pugs. I go with the void build instead. My priests eyes don’t glow yeller.
Why not just swap off oracle when you’re standing around Dornagal, aka: the only time you actually see the front of your character. Voidweaver is boring as hell to play and for my money worse in pugs given fewer cds to make up for people not kicking and standing in stuff.
