Damn you guys would’ve cried yourself to death during the Netherwing rep grind in BC
Not really. The egghunt was the same as the one in Pandaria, and as long as you've got the time and dedication to grind it out, you could do it on your own terms, not some poor timegated one that blizzard says you should do.
BFA is going to last another 2 years before he next expansion, so there's plenty of time to grind rep and level alts. 2 years!!
Copy the MoP approach where you get an account-wide reputation boost token at exalted. Should make it easier IMO.
bring back physical rep tokens, especilally since they are bugged on the app and not giving the bonus rep.
Time Gated Content. Aka an excuse to keep people subbed longer without actually adding content.
The other problem is that there is only one way to gain rep. If they removed the time gates and gave us other ways to attain rep it would be a lot less painful.
Perhaps they could do something much like they did in Pandaria. Once exalted you could unlock bonus rep on your alts.

This should happen. It was a good compromise in MoP.

From what I understand... access to the opposing faction Mythic dungeon is locked behind an achievement. As are Island Expeditions. So once you complete the war campaign then you do not need to do the war campaign again besides establish the landing points and turn on world quests.
Same thing with the 2nd part of the overall zone story, once you get the ____ Tourist achievement then any alts do not need to 100% the storyline chapters to proceed onto part 2.
Rep grinding for flying also only needs to be done on 1 character.
The only rep you would be required to regrind is Champions of Azeroth.
Unless your alts are crafters and hell bent on getting the recipes from the various factions. Or if you want to gear them via the rep reward stuff to start them out with but by that time we will all be flexing in LFR and reaping those sweet sweet welfare purples so that parts kind of a non issue.
Basically what they could reword this post to is "Will we have to regrind CoA rep for each alt's necklace?" And that's a valid question.
My solution would be to just have your highest CoA rep shared on all your characters of max level on the same faction. The rest you could grind out whatever but CoA is the only one that really matters in terms of an alts power curve.
Games should be fun and challenging. I do not find rep grinding to be ether. I find them to be tedious and tedious is the opposite of challenging and fun.

This.
I know it's been a staple of Wow since the beginning, but WoW has to evolve and design better ways for players to progress and earn things. WQ's were a step in the right direction, but it is still pretty tedious just the same.
I'd rather enjoy myself when I play the game, vs feel like I'm just doing chores constantly.

If you get exalted on your main you should get exalted on your alts.
No one wants to do the grind twice. It's not fun.
So you think blizzard will just let your alts have all the profession patterns and epic gear just because your main spent a month doing wq ?
Is that something you think is even remotely possible ?
If I have to rep grind and do the garrison crap more than once, I'm unsubbing and quitting forever. I've had enough of that garbage.
I don't play wow to do chores.
Bye.
This guy right here is the reason we have this crap. 20 max level rooms already..? Really man...?
Ion Hazzalreadysaid that you shouldn't be playing alts. Play your main and do the grinds. That is the official position.
I don't see how people will be able to have more than 1 alt with the kind of grinding we are about to see. 1 main and 1 alt is about the max I can see.
And Ion knows what’s fun and what isn’t...

No, I only cried when blizzard implemented account-wide mounts right after I grinded another thousand ogre butts to get talbuks on an alt.
I usually do different reps on different characters. Example: I unlocked Nightborne and Highmountain Tauren with this character and Void Elves and Lighborne on a different character. It just seemed to work out that way that I played my alt more on Argus so it was quicker for those reps. Some of my alts don't have any exalted statuses at all.

And that is why the game isn't as fun as it was before he got the promotion.
In Wrath, we had 5 ways of gaining pve reputation:
- dailies
- killing mobs
- running heroic dungeons with the faction's tabard
- running normal dungeons and purchasing rep tokens at the Justice vendor
- pvping, then converting honor to justice and purchasing rep tokens at the Justice vendor
They should go back to all of those things, plus the added MoP boosts, too.
Choice is a good thing in a game, WoW devs.
/signed Talacocheta the Insane, on my Winterspring Frostsaber with one of my Netherwing Drakes flying nearby
Stuff like character-locked reputation is why I have such a huge problem starting alts.
Honestly, if Blizzard makes alts more accessible by either making more things account-wide or applying bonus rep gain to alts after you hit exalted, that would just increase playtime because players would actually be more willing to play different classes (and buy boosts, hint hint)
none my alt is 120 ilvl 313 the only thing lacking is the heart of azeroth.
