The 1.12 patch has already caused issues in the raiding/dungeon scene (not AS bad as some are making it out, but it still has). It will be disappointing for AV to suffer the same fate.
All I heard and read about AV prior to TBC and WOTLK, was even before all the patch changes before the first expansion, and weâre STILL not going to get that experience back?!
Yeah, Acti-Blizz sucks with decision making anymore.
Itâs clearly not about you. These forums are for us to voice our opinions to see if we can get change. You know, like how we got Classic back, when people such as yourself made snide comments and battled against it.
AV was original described by Blizzard as PvPvE. So yeah, A lot of people really enjoyed the early iteration. I enjoyed that I could join at level 50 and give equivalent contributions by killing harpies and kobolds. Or the fact low level mages and priests could explosion bomb the enemy forces at choke points.
And itâs still pvpve, it just emphasizes the pvp part more than the pve, which it should as itâs a BG. And while Iâm sure some people did enjoy the original AV it was so unpopular blizzard changed it many times during vanilla.
Classic isnât going to evolve. People arenât expecting new things on the horizon so the urge to hurry isnât exactly common place. I would argue there is less PvP because there is less to force people to stop and fight each other. Unless you get a dedicated small force to disrupt forward momentum, there is a lot less pvp. I had more fun in the 1.11 PTR AV than I could on live at that point because people didnât care to fight each other. On the PTR, that is all they wanted to do. Winning wasnât important. In the earlier version of AV, it wasnât as easy to leave one person to cap an objective because the guards were actually tough to beat. GY guards couldnât be pulled by just anyone either or they would get stomped. It actually required some team work and dedication instead of pure zerg.
