It’s hard to say. Is the timing a little fishy? Yeah, I could agree to that. “Oh the day the change happened is the day you planned to dump 100k in essences? HMMMMMMMMMMM” but when you consider that there’s at probably 2-3 million people playing this game you have to realize that’s a lot of chances for crazy things like this to occur. Doesn’t make it true, but we have no way of knowing ourselves.
To play the devil’s advocate for anyone who plays 1-5 characters getting power upgrades as soon as they’re available makes sense, but I imagine for the massive altoholics who play 20-50 characters that managing all that stuff is not necessarily at the top of their priority list and that they do stuff in batches. I imagine there’s a certain sense of satisfaction you get by going character by character to purchase all the essences, also makes it easier to keep track of everything if you do it all at the same time instead of try to keep it straight which characters have bought which essences and logging on each to verify, etc.
Tbh my biggest issue with how they handled this is the fact they increased the essence cost. They should’ve just left it where it was at and continued on with the acquisition increase of x5. Because now on my alts I have to choose between getting corruption or getting essences. If I choose essences, then I am now WAY behind on targeted corruption (and it could be weeks or months before I am able to get my target thanks to this rotating inventory nonsense, which just feels like a middle finger to the players).
Honestly, I never bought into the Team A and Team B theory, but it 1000% feels like BFA was not remotely made by the people who pumped out Legion. That’s the only reason I have any hope for SL… Is that hopefully the “legion” team is working on SL. Cause BFA? Honestly it’s just felt like blizzard has been going “let’s see how much we can stick it to the players before we lose too much money.”
They communicated the information, the issue is that they didn’t communicate it with enough notice for people who played yesterday morning but didn’t check the launcher, forums, or fansites in the evening.

Why is it always okay to screw other people in this game to get what you want. The sensible solution, which would have been more likely to happen if people like you weren’t so die hard about screwing others, would have been just to put new currency in.

Cyniel that’s plain obvious with 24 chars…i showed the maths for doing it 1 by 1…that’s 9 hours PER DAY EVERYDAY of visions and assaults…and that would be with GEARED characters…that said prob viable on high pop serv to get carried trought the events for the assaults which would count as if he was geared on all of them…idk anyone that is that insane to do that all day long non-stop…as I have said b4…i dont buy that he dont multi-box…not with 24 chars…its not a matter of stating…more a matter of it being hard to believe he would be this insane…its like telling that “you flew in the air with the power of your mind”…I mean how many ppl would believe it ?..his statement saying he did them all 1 by 1 is just hard to believe knowing how much work has to be put into it…i normally dont assume of ppl saying unless its something that seem too extreme…so ya that’s assumption there but I wont believe this no matter if he tried to convince me…and I dont think he gonna cam himself doing all this stuff 9 hours a day everyday for an entire 2 months just for the sake of proving his words
