Allied Races: who comes next?

But why do they have to be “pretty”?

I will have you know my KT with a beer gut, bald spite and flesh scarred enough to be hamburger meat is very pretty!

I think her point is that Blizz tries to make female variants of races pretty. Even if maybe they shouldn’t be. Worgen got a lot of criticism, especially with the old models. Male worgen were big angry monsters and female worgen were delicate furry ladies with makeup.

but now they look like vacuums would spook them.

Assuming the faction barrier is going to exist and we’re not all buddies next expansion…

Big fan on these guys going team blue. With them cooperating with the Void Elves, it would also feel natural and not forced. Really ready for a new noble race that doesn’t reflect a human in some way.

Oh my goodness, Rexxar getting that model update has boosted this hypetrain immensely. Like Ethereals for Alliance, they wouldn’t feel forced at all and would be a great addition to the Hordes pool.

Pipe Dream race? The Klaxxi! Yeah I know, they’re Old God boies, but oh my lord I just love bug races so much.

They don’t and that’s my point. Blizz thinks everyone wants big meathead male characters and tiny cute female characters. Kul Tirans are the first time female characters get a scarred feature and aren’t skinny. Undead fall outside of this, because they are dead, but even then you can make them look pretty because there’s a face option that isn’t ravaged by the grave.

I think the unfortunate reality is that a lot of people do want ‘pretty’ female characters. :disappointed:

If you look at the demographics, 48% of women in the Horde are blood elves. The next highest is trolls at 10% with everyone else only managing single digits. And, for the Alliance, humans & night elves come in both at 27%, with draenei the next at 15%.

I mean, they’re half right? People want thin cute female characters, hence the overwhelming popularity of BEs, humans, draenei, NEs and VEs.

They’re only wrong in thinking that people demand meathead males. The most popular male models are NEs, BEs, and Humans… the more slender models (which isn’t saying much because they’re all still beefy, just not orc/draenei/kul tiran tier meatwads).

I don’t think it is wrong to prioritize stuff people will actually use. More options for slender characters of either gender with attractive faces are probably more worthwhile than creating a playable ogre female model that nobody will use

Women or people playing female characters?

All the male characters are musclebound, orcs and draenei even more so. We could have gotten skinny human males, but for some reason, Blizz didn’t make them an option.

Which honestly leads me to point two about ogres: like five people would play them and the rest of us will be wondering why the race of chronically stupid people with routine quests involving ogre turds are a playable race when we could have gotten something cool like Arakkoa or Ethereals.

don’t add any new races until you add a handsome face for nightborne males blizz people want to play a tall slender dude but you made them look super bad

Fix blood elf male faces while you’re at it. I’m still mad about the model update ruining them.

And for the love of god give night elf men another face. With eyebrows maybe.

NE male face number 1 is like the uniform of the race

Also get rid of that ridiculous “hero pose” the Nightborne are forced to have.

Excuse you, but our purple raisin men are perfect!

And it’s frustrating.

Like I appreciate male nightborne because my nightborne was supposed to be an ugly wretched-looking thing but my male night elf is supposed to be a dashing hero and he looks like a doofus instead.

I maintain that Kul’tiran men are the best male models that Blizzard has ever released because they at least look remotely human.

I don’t know why, but I always think Kul Tiran dudes look like the kind of guys who would sing to lovers in an Italian food restaurant.

This is independent of Miko’s raisin post >.>
