Allied Race: Which race would you choose and how would you include it?

Id add Turtles for Alliance and Mushroom head guys for the Horde, to get my complete list.

in season of mastery classic -

alliance

high elves start with humans in northshire and have their own racials. they use the tbc belf model but with blue eyes. when the game rolls over to season of mastery tbcc, the high elves have the option to become horde blood elves. the ones who select blood elf, their eyes turn green and they obtain blood elf racials and live in silvermoon, as per the original tbc.

architect profession and player housing is added to the season of mastery game. housing is instanced and simplified at first, growing more complex in later season of mastery xpacs. the housing is flavored by race. so a high elf house would look like a typical high elf building, white with blue and gold trim.

horde

ogres start with orcs in valley of trials and have their own racials. they use the classic ogre male model at first, though short enough to fit in doors. when the game rolls over to season of mastery tbcc, female ogres are added.

Murlocs.

Neutral faction. Special attack: throw whoever they’re fighting in a big pot.
Language filter. Everything they say adds too many l’s, m’s, r’s, and g’s and omits almost every other letter in the alphabet.
Leader? A red murloc for the Horde, a blue murloc for the Alliance.

I would love to play a satyr race. The goat people as I call them.

I guess they would be horde?

Wow Retail

a new spec for every class that includes a shapeshift into an unique race with preset gear appearance. examples are:

warlock
spec: necromancer
shapeshift: lich or banshee (alliance), san’layn (horde)
pets: undead (alliance), bats (horde)

priest
spec: mindcontroller
shapeshift: naga
pets: charmed npcs

druid
spec: faery magic
shapeshift: dryad/keeper of the grove
pets: sprite darters

hunter
spec: dark ranger (belf if horde, nelf if alliance)
shapeshift: dark ranger
pets: whateva

rogue
spec: ninja (can scale walls/trees/etc to 5 or so ft. above ground level. ranged only)
shapeshift: ?
pets: floating shields at ground level (in case of terrain with nothing scalable)

warrior
spec: beserker (harder they get hit, harder they hit back)
shapeshift: taunka/vrykul
pets: small drakes (frost taunka, fire vrykul)

mage
spec: battlemage
shapeshift: high elf, full body shield/glaives only. reds and golds horde, blues and silvers alliance
pets: mana wyrms (mana regen)

shaman
spec: bard
shapeshift: war drummer (troll horde, draenei alliance). every totem becomes war drum

paladin
spec: archangel (big aoe heals and lay on hands only, mana intensive, very specialized - mostly a raid spec where single target healers are also present. farther from party, bigger the aoe heal while still in range. good soloer from super effective consecration, though no self heals other than lay on hands. mediocre mitigation. lots of defensive bubbles.)
shapeshift: an archangel with huge feathery wings
pets: potion vendor (you’re gonna need it)

demon hunter
spec: ?
shapeshift: ?
pets: ?

death knights
spec: ?
shapeshift: ?
pets: ?

monks
spec: ?
shapeshift: ?
pets: ?

Tuskarr. Their females would look like the females that they are trying to appease with all the woke changes, but that doesn’t make them any less awesome.

For Alliance, of course. It gives Alliance another shaman, warrior, monk, hunter, rogue, DK, preferably no priest, definitely no paladin, lock, mage or DH. IDK about druids… I still think dwarves should get druids again.

Mount: wooly rhino.

Story: Mary Suevannas invades Northrend again. I forget if Bolvar lost control of the UD.

well if political factions count too then si 7 goblins for alliance and i think defias humans would be cool. pay those workers back already and mend that fence

dryads would be amazing

ogres for the horde. if theyre too big we finally have a model for moknathal orcs

thats why i have dryads in the retail extra spec section. say druids get a new spec called faery magic, females shapeshift dryad, males shapeshift keeper of the grove, their pets are sprite darters. the idea being that odd body shapes can be played and included by making them a shapeshift associated with a new class spec and the gear is preset so it can be faction tinted and so artists dont have to create 100+ levels of armor to fit odd body types. observe:

If we’re making outrageous wishes that they’ll never do because it would go against their bottom line, I would go Dragonflight.

The big twist would be just like with dragonflight NPCs in the game, their humanoid appearance is entirely at their discretion, which means that they would get a racial which was “your humanoid race is selectable at the barber”, and they would get the ability to instant cast flight form that was a dragon.

This would be the race for all (fellow) casuals That just want to enjoy transmog on a single character using all different kinds of models on a whim, mixed with some instant cast QoL flight. If such a choice could be made, I’d even take a racial that made me weaker, so it wouldn’t be the obvious choice for raiding or whatever.

Want to be Chromie’s gnome friend today? Hit the barber and now you look like a gnome. Feel like being Draenei for the next dungeon? Hit the barber.

While I’m being ridiculous, how about a racial on a 30 minute CD that simply brings up the barber UI wherever you are?

Alliance - Horde
High Elfs - San’layn
Broken - Ogres
Frostborn Dwarfs - Taunka
Wildhammer Dwarf (I want them as an allied race not as a skin Blizzard!!) - Forest Troll (the muscular ones)
Eredar – Fel Orcs
Jinyu – Gilgoblin
Furbolg - Sethraks?

No more “Allied” races - just new, full-stop races.

Next expansion’s racial additions need to be front and center, will the full showcase of capitals, characters, lore, history, and relevance. Nothing tacked on, or brought in after the fact - just two classical, fully developed races that play a major, significant role in the expansion as it unfolds.

New skeletons, new animations, VA, new characters, architecture, history, and themes. No half measures, no, “oh, remember these guys from back then!?” no damn 0-effort pallet swaps, and no half-measures.

Whatever, who ever the next expansion brings into the roster, I want them coming onto the scene with full, Burning Crusade, Blood Elf and Draenei levels of development and importance.

how many people actually play allied races ?

Preach it. They’d have to water san’layn down hard to cram them into BE customization, and the end result would be very underwhelming.
