Personally, I like the idea that the Arakkoa have already escaped into Azeroth. We just havenāt made contact with them yet.
One idea would be a group of arakkoas who arrived in Azeroth, taking advantage of the portal used by the Maghar!
This group is looking for ways to help their brothers, still trapped with Yrellās lightbouds, come to Azeroth!
One of them remembers a group of wizards who had a lookout post in Gorgrond, with a large portal to Azeroth that they could use!
After some travel and information search, they come to Stormwind and call on Alliance members for help!
Anduin asks Kirin Tor for assistance with using the portal and the risks involved!
After many tests and calculations the mages report that they need a powerful power source to reactivate the portal back to Draenor!
One on our side and one in Draenor! It would also be necessary to gather and take the fugitives to the portal so that they could cross quickly, as it would not be possible to keep open for a long time!
Wizards say it is possible to gather enough arcane energy from our side and arakkoas say they are able to use their apexis to do the same on the opposite side!
The wizards open a smaller-scale portal for a group of volunteers to travel to Draenor to gather the arakkoas and collect enough apexis to perform a synchronized portal opening!
Unfortunately, the movement and confluence of energies eventually attracted the attention of the Lightbounds, which when reaching the point of exodus, demand that we give up and surrender!
A brief and desperate battle later, the arakkoas and the expeditionary force make it to Azeroth, under the light bound promise that we are only postponing the inevitable, and that the day will come when we will be purged of our corruptions or executed!
And so the arakkoas come to Azeroth!
A very simple and cliche fan fic but it is slightly detailed and believable, I think!
My only issue is this; āIs it believable by ActiBlizz?ā Unless they outright say something themselves, we canāt really do much except speculate.
ClichƩ as that sounds, it really does seem like the best course for the story to go.
Sometimes the most simple explanation is better than a long and very questionable/unlikely one.
While I canāt agree moreā¦ I feel like that might be a jab at my own post. O.o? Is it? XD
In no way, I agree with you. Who knows what blizz really thinks about it?
Heh, sorry for accusing you, then. Anyway, glad to have you on board.
If it means good storytelling (for once), Iām all for it.
Thatās only going to come around when they work on Warcraft 4 where things ACTUALLY matter.
And Warcraft 4 will only happen when they up and abandon WoW.
Frankly, iām not sure why they limit allied races. Just throw them all in.
Theyāre just cosmetics. Racials are laughably bad for a majority of races aside from Orc and Trolls.
Thatās a rather pessimistic way to view Playable Racesā¦
looks at humans who have +2% to all secondary stats on all gear
Makes you wonder why these guys are one of the top played races, then.
Looks like weāre coming up on the end of another Arakkoa-less era.
PTR had another update but nothing has been revealed. Weāll have to hope and pray someone calls out ActiBlizz at Blizzcon to make our favorite bird race playable.
Its not only cosmetics, I think. I got your point, but there are a strong fantasy about an allied race. You can take orc magāhar as a good example.
What we need is to remind Blizzard that arakkoas exist and could be a good fit for a playable race!
Arakkoas are an exotic race with an interesting lore, that make room even for the inclusion of new classes!
There are many opportunities to do relevant things with arakkoas and other races, for warcraft revitalization!
The best we can do is to keep talking about them, and showing their interest in our birds!
Agreed, but at this point, the faster we get them through, the better our chances of playing them becomes.
Fantasy is not the only thing required, though; which is sad because thereās a few races that have a rather lack-luster fantasy yet they are given more time in the spotlight and have (somewhat) more powerful racialsā¦
I would sign onto this! Maybe they would have to use the Arakkoa that arenāt cursed though, for armor to fit and all.
Theyād be able to fix that by giving the cursed Arakkoa the forsaken rigs.
