Alliance mains: why do you play Alliance?

Because the human racial gives me a buff to rep.

You pay for the entire game, why only play half of it? I have a main on both sides.

I play Alliance because I just find no joy in playing the Horde. I like a fair number of the Horde’s races to be honest, and the Zandalari are, in my opinion, the best Allied Race to date. But, I just cannot enjoy playing Horde. I just feel… tired after a few hours of playing, and I can’t focus on doing anything. The look of Orgrimmar is just… abrasive to me somehow, so I avoid it as much as possible, but it’s the Horde’s main city so you cannot avoid it.

Feels like my only option to enjoy the game is Alliance. It’s just a pity I’ve yet to find a race on the Alliance I feel passionate about playing. I’d roll a Saberon tiger-Paladin in a heartbeat, or a Dragonsworn Druid with draconic forms, even a High Elf Mage. I’m kind of hoping Night Fae and Kyrian get added to the Alliance as Allied Races. Kyrian seem like they might be fun for any of those classes, though I think I’d have to make a Night Fae Druid.

I favor Alliance but like to play both factions, but now days it has become too time consuming to play more than one character at a time.

Cause i look gud :stuck_out_tongue:

Started out playing Horde, but someone suggested I try Alliance, so I made an Alliance character.

I play both sides, but tend to lean more towards Alliance because that’s where more of the people I know play, so that is where I main most.

For the pandas…oh, wait. No, because 2 of my brothers started on ally and I followed. Otherwise, I probably would had started horde.

Saying that, after one brother quit…I did wander over to the horde out of boredom, and met this nice family guild. Drug brother over, and we stuck there for a good 2-3 years before it fell apart.

Went back to alliance [dragging some good horde friends I made there, and yes brother again]. I do still play horde, and enjoy it-just don’t ā€˜main’ it, so to speak.

My fiance and friends who used to play were Alliance though we did main Horde for awhile.

i really like mag’har orcs and i think they are one of the best races aesthetically for warrior, my main class

that’s why i main red alliance

I was almost rooting for the High mountain tauren to go alliance when they announced the allied race system. Not that it would make a whole lot of sense. Could always have dreamed tho. /sigh

For the OP I play alliance for a whole host of reasons.
-Night Elves
-It’s how I originally started in vanilla.
-since I play casually it’s okay to have a minor inconvenience when I have to compete with horde to reach an objective.
-city layout and aesthetics overall better
-I like the armor more, usually fits better.
-no spikes on everything
-Night elves.

… did I forget to mention… night elves?? :stuck_out_tongue:

I enjoyed them as a race, civilized and cultured. Order in the chaos but with the freedom of a republic and a democracy available for everyone of all ages and walks of life.

Horde is more strict, first they have a dictator in charge. You are constricted on what you can do due to the need to be United on every single front. The choice of what you can be is limited in it diversity and Orgrimmar is like San Francisco with the crap lining their streets.

Of course that dictatorial unity is why the Horde beat the Alliance like a drum in WC and WoW.

Human Diplomacy.

Just Human in general, less clipping.

In a nutshell, post-cata Orgrimmar is the worst city in the game by far, the way the faction has been written for years now sucks, and a lot of horde players are obsessive with faction identity in the same way some guys are with truck brands which is super weird.

Alliance may be boring but at least it isn’t off-putting.

Yeah they all say this until an orc drops a magical nuke on them.

Reminder the Alliance has a hereditary monarchy in power, the Horde has a council.

The council stuff is super recent though, and given that humans are by far the ones filling the ranks and dying the most in defense of the Alliance I think it’s fair that they get more say in the direction of the Alliance than the other races.

One Warcheif ruled over all faction from it’s inception and you can;t say no or be branded a traitor.

Ref 1. - Frostwolves.
Ref 2. Guldan
Ref 3. Voljin
Ref 4. Saurfang and Baine.

Alliance on the other hand might be a monarchy but they are an more like current British Royal.

Ref 1. High Elves told Humans to go Pound sand during WC2.
Ref 2. Stormgrade and Gilneas told Lordaeron to Pound sand after WC2.
Ref 3. Highelves told Alliance to go Pound sand in Wow
Ref 4. Varian has to ask each alliance member to commit more troops in MoP. Blood in Snow is one. A little Patient is another.
Ref 5. Tyrande told Anduin to go pound sand and kiss the darkest part of her hiney recently.

So yeah, Freedom, something the Horde don’t get.

ā€œOh yeah man, we’re totally free and equal. Therefore some of our members get more of a say than others. Including our human King, our human knights and the rest of our human landed gentry.ā€

We don’t have a warchief anymore, fam.

The question of the post is what makes you play alliance DAWG, not why are you still currently playing Alliance.
