Alliance loses in BGs because of

I think you should try out a class that relies on stuns then, you will see how much your stuns really do get resisted. It’s an insane amount and I see people here all the time saying “just stun them” when it comes to Horde which really isn’t a sure thing. I feel like it’s rare when both my stuns actually work and the fact that it wastes energy is an even bigger issue. I honestly wouldn’t have a problem with every other orc resisting 1 or 2 or both stuns if it didn’t eat my energy doing it.

The stun resist thing feels bugged to me. My BtE gets resisted a lot.

heh like i said its 1% if its the orc player and 99% if its the opponent.

the difference between wotf and stun resist is one is on demand and the other is rng.

i get stunned and unable to do anything more times than you would even believe.

maybe its bugged just for me?

would be just my luck lol.

it feels that way iv had an orc resist both my CS and then BtE and it seems to happen alot

Really it’s just that you notice it when it matters. Like I said, I played an orc warrior (and also a hunter) and just thought I was an absolute force against rogues. Now that I play an Alliance rogue it’s just like I get spit in the face. If my stuns don’t get resisted I crap all over someone, if they do it’s like I’m a child unless they’re REALLY bad.

also quick fact:

you cant sap a shaman in ghost wolf.

you can however sleep them with a druid or blind them.

i also want to say this .

its 2024 .

nearly 20 years since wow launched.

everyone knows all the intimate details of all the racials and some of you are playing like you forgot and havent adjusted to even to this day.

change what you think works to what actually does and youll find way more success.

buddy, shamans has nothing to do with allies losing BG’s. whenever i queue for AB or WSG the horde has a plan, always. like my last WSG. everyone was told to clash mid, wipe and send a druid for the flag. Plan went 10/10, half of our team went back and killled the allie FC while the other half (with heals) supported ours. After capping the first flag, the 4-5 allies went afk at the gy. That’s 95% of my WSG games.

In ab, if we have one hunter, we ask if he’s willing to defend our first in which most cases its a yes. So we have 1 hunter defending our first, 1-2 stealths go for mines, 1-2 goes LM to delay the cap, the rest goes to BS. Horde is always doing calling for incs in AB, no one ever goes afk somehow. even if we lose the initial clash at BS.

The truth about horde winning most of the BG’s is not because shamans, racials, class stacking, having more heals, etc. The truth is, we have to wait 10-15mins for every single bg and we sweat blood to win, because we dont want to sit another 10-15’ish mins for another game. While allies, having insta Q, they dont bother if they win or lose, allies tend to go afk and go next game, your queues are instant, so you dont really bother or even try.

They’ll never admit its a skill issue. Boomkins and destro locks hit harder than shamans, you dont see people crying about that. Its usually some kid who gets rekt by a shaman 1v1 and come make a post here.

trust me, you dont. i bet my money you dont even know how hardiness actual work. if you do, please do tell me what an orc player stun resist is.

hint: its not 35%

25% yeehaw

How much money do I get?

Its a skill/motivation issue, but they make the excuse of shamans being OP. I play both alliance and horde toons, and the issue with alliance is that they give up after the first clash in both WSG/AB. Once the initial clash is lost, there are like 2-3 people in BG chat that go “just let them cap and move next”, and then half the team will sit at ST (AB) / GY (WSG) after it. The only time we win alliance WSG is when we have a druid FC carrying the entire team (consumes, whelp armor, engineering CDs etc.) – even then there are prob 1-2 people sitting GY most of the game.

Sitting in horde AB solo queue for 1hr now (estimate at 15min). Alliance needs to stop using shaman as an excuse for clear lack of motivation and skill. Especially with the damage reductions over the last 2 weekends, shaman are not an issue at all in pvp. Queue up and play the game.

Lmao  like always

Boomins, destro locks hit just as hard as shamans. The problem with alliance is half the team is a mix of hunters and paladins.

Yeah thats another issue with alliance. Most of the pallys are playing retribution since the updates they have made in SOD.

Ret hits like a noodle in pvp, especially w/ the damage reductions recently. Its a massive benefit to the team if any of the pallys run holy instead of ret in BGs – we have actually won games where most of the pallys were healing, but too many of them want to be righteous avengers of the light.

Unfortunately just not an optimal spec in pvp at the moment (unless they add some changes or updates), but its equivalent to rogues running sub/hemo instead of mulilate or priests running smite spec instead of shadow or disc healing – just better options overall for certain classes in pvp at the moment. And for some reason, 6/6 emerald dweeb/parasomnia ret pallies make up like 40% of alliance pop thats in BGs.

LOL…and then you woke up

If you’re losing to an enhance shaman as a rogue then I’m sorry but you’re a donkey…rogues beat enhance shamans easily. They don’t even need the opener or evasion, just toe to toe the enhance shaman gets stomped, unless the rogue is a complete donkey.

Just as I don’t see many priests, druids or mages doing it. This is not unique to the paladin.

They’re bad because their purpose is to only increase only one thing (armor or pushback protection or magical resists).

Indeed but it costs mana and far more gcd than activating an aura (4 gcd to deploy one fire, one earth, on wind and one water).

I disagree.

Horde missed BoK throughout all the vanilla content and it was unfair and same for blessing of salvation.

Restricting one essential buff in pve to one faction is not a good thing.

Indeed.

Ret right now suffers from many problems right now.

  • Bad mana regen. Seal of Martyrdom is a bad seal by design. Sacrificing your health pool to deal damage and regen mana isn’t a good thing.
Guarded by Light punishes the user by reducing their healing by 50% and this rune competes with Art of War.

  • Ret is slow in combat. It can’t engage its target instantly because it doesn’t have any real speed boost or gap closer to catch up its target and it doesn’t have any snare.

  • The toolkit is vulnerable to offensive/defensive dispel mechanism.

  • Another point is that the ret doesn’t bring anything unique to a fight that another paladin couldn’t already bring.

Easy to say that.

Buffing SoC and DS won’t solve ret’s problem. At best it’ll give some oomph in damages but nothing more.

There is already a “do everything gear” it’s the lamellar set but it’s not simple as it sounds.
If you use the lamellar set you trade %hit and %crit for intellect and spellpower.

Said like that, it sounds good, but in reality you lose a lot of offensive power because you activate the Vengeance talent or the Art of War rune less often.

As I said now ret’s problem, apart from his small mana bar, is that it can’t use its support abilities without running out of mana after 5 seconds (ok I overreact but not too much).

So first ret needs a good way to regenerate its mana without sacrificing health or its heal potency.

It won’t change anything.

In addition to costing mana, Great Blessings require reagent that costs 24 Silver. If they don’t buff now, even though it only costs mana, you can imagine that if it costs them money, they certainly won’t make the effort.

What will it change?

It won’t persuade ret players to use anything other than the sanctity aura.

Again what’s the point.

Unfortunately it’s so true.

Many Alliance players just give up after the first fight or the first flag in wsg or most of the time they die in middle alone against 4 or 5 enemies and afk at gy or go back middle again.

In AB it’s worse, Alliance players fight on the road between two points instead of defending or trying to group up and attack a new spot to cap.

They let cap point defenseless.
They never fight near the cap point to prevent Horde from taking it and don’t make call most of the time.

And the thing that drives me crazy every time is their stubbornness to attack the same point (the stables) over and over again when there are 10 Horde players defending it even when you tell them to move on another spot. In the end, they waste precious time and the result is a shameful defeat.

Players don’t like losing repeatedly and it’s understandable.

And sadly the same Alliance players that give up after first push in AB/WSG, go straight to the forums to post “WE NEED SHAMAN NERFS ASAP”. Serious lack of self-awareness from them. Just looking for an excuse for alliance losing so much.

I feel even if Shaman nerfs come (which they will eventually), and even if there are massive nerfs to Shaman, Alliance will still keep losing in pvp/BGs. The motivation/skill issues with alliance in pvp are really an aftereffect from the devs allowing aggrends dream of full premades through the entirety of P1 (with 10/10 WSG double priest premades on alliance). Majority of alliance were only running these full premades for pugstomping ez wins (yes a majority, very few alliance solo queued at all in P1, with solo queue spots taking 4-5min to fill once an alliance player left a BG) and since they are now put up against fair teams, they completely lost their motivation to try – and instead theyre using nerf shammy to cope with their lack of motivation/skill.

When in doubt, blame Shamans.

“Blizzard, I’m in all greens, and don’t even know what a macro is, and everything is killing me…umm…hops on the nerf shamans bandwagon nerf the things that everybody is crying about!”

I don’t have a problem with tauren or troll enh shamans.

Because there are 6 to 8 shamans on every team, the map, and mostly because most alliance PVPer’s have already left the game. I was a fully geared R7 disc priest and I expected to play like I did in TBC and WOTLK. But it’s pointless to heal now. And I’m NOT waiting for Blizzard to nerf/buff nerf/buff damage every other week.
