This is a possible explanation for these nerfs… I mean looking at the logs on wowmeta for the raid testing we were tied for the bottom 2 healers (one being the king of M+ healing), so nerfs are an odd response to that…

I was thinking this too. Like, Are they gonna pull some huge “Gotcha” right before release? is…is that the plan? because wtf lol
I mean are we gods in PvP or something? I just cannot grasp what is actually happening. I’m looking for any reason other than they are lashing out at us, or trying to get us to stop playing the class.

I kind of love the Monk community. Everyone here is so passionate about their class. All of your ideas are amazing and it makes me wish the lot of you were developers. It’s a pleasure reading this thread, even if the subject matter is extremely painful lol.

So wrapped up last night’s raid and headed to Peak of Serenity for a bit to see what I could look to improve on with BrM. Then I saw the crapstorm. I had thought monks had only been hit with MT off GCD. And while thats a good thing it was underwhelming, but no what was starting to look like an interesting playstyle for MW went from running around full of possible life to gutted and spatchcocked and ready for the oven.
Without even a moment of time for the almighty blue ones to even stop by and go “hey we way over shot this one we are working on it.” BrM got slammed a bit because we can’t have monks being that good of course. But 2 weeks since we were told to wait a week with nothing to show as far as feedback and random back and forth tuning decisions with no clear direction.

Well I believe I have had an epiphany and thought up some changes which basically satisfies everyone, I just need some time to write it up (it will probably be posted under my former name Thorcules - my pc won’t let me change character and is still using old name).

While I would love to see them I doubt Blizz would even care.
Looks like we need to yell louder, can’t even get a blue post on our nerfs, but DKs can get one on their changes and a blue response on fixing something they want changed in less than 24 hours. BLIZZARD WE NEED TO TALK!!

Refusing to class balance has left the game in a sad state since probably Legion. I still remember the “Bring the player, not the class” talk. At the time, it sounded good. But now I think every Monk realizes why that philosophy is a poor motto. Bring both. Bring the player and the class. That’s how we stop leaving people behind.

the expel harm change from "shock " heal to only yourself + soothing mist

yulong healing only 2 people feels like a nerf only to put in a legendary to put it back to where it should be

chi ji changed from 2 mins to 3 mins is painful, with it scaling with mastery was an awesome change but because TotM doesn’t trigger the heal and only heals 2 people as well , this talent becomes dead on arrival
I personally would like to see the changes reverted we weren’t the strongest healer we are pretty much middle of the pack the nerfs were not needed i was excited when they did the chi ji changes and the ability to spot shock with a mastery buffed expel harm … to completely disappointed and zero blue direction isn’t helpful

We mistweaver monks have been faithfully acting as a beta class for other healers. Our cool class fantasy has been properly dismantled our cool tools/skills have been handed to other healing classes.

All these changes, and not a single blue post. Check out how the DK pet change was reverted like 24 hours after announcement. Paladin ineffable truth changes reverted before they ever made it to retail. Whoever the monk developer is, honestly, you’re absolutely incompetent and I hope you read this.

I think they know the moment they give a blue post, if it does not include a few of the things we have been asking for it’s going to be hell to pay. They obviously don’t have anything to show us which is really not a good look.
In the off chance they are simply getting things ready to satisfy people maybe we can get lucky. But I’m giving it a 90% chance monk is going to get shipped with at the very least the same # of bugs as we had before beta testing, as well as without a solution to endgame scaling, without meaningful changes to ww, and without goblin/worgen/lightforged monks.
It feels like an abandoned class, with the only work being put Into it being number tuning to make sure the class is not better than anything else.

I’ve thought about stuff today. I realized that I’ve never quit WoW because I felt like my class was no good. I’ve quit WoW before because I was bored. However, I’m getting super close to just quitting WoW for SL launch because my class is so bad and feels bad. I can’t just switch mains as well.
I think we can all agree that WW/MW was bad in 8.3. However, I could still make 8.3 MW work for Mythic 21 or even mythic raiding. However, everything is looking so bad for SL.
I wanna give the expansion more time to progress and balance things, but after yesterday that told me everything. Not even a blue post as to why they nerfed things so hard.
FF14 was pretty neat. However no Panda stuff

I completely understand where you’re coming from. I returned SL and will wait to see what happens because I really don’t want to play another class. I raid healed last week and was reminded just how far we’ve come from our MoP day

On a somewhat related not, I just spent the past hour reading through Tweets from Blizzard employees I found from their ShadowLands credits they posted. It was strangely hopeful because they all obviously love the game and want to make it as enjoyable as they possibly can. I am more inclined to believe it’s all just a time/resources type of thing and we are the least played class

Can’t include links or pics I guess or just don’t know how but the MW forums over on peak discord had a great graph of just how bad blue post look. Druids near constant feed back with hunter and shaman having big upticks. All way down to us and rogues with a whopping 2 each
