They could have easily just made an extra gem that benefitted fighting those mob types each week they were up on the island, in addition to the normal gems. That way you could run the regular GOOD gems, or while on the island, make a choice about whether to pump things up a bit. But that would mean benefitting players AND benefitting lore.
are you simming with the sub optimal gems that are currently available? The ring is currently a downgrade for practically everyone because the BiS gems are not available. Once those are, it should sim very strong.
BTW, Devs… while you are fixing gem availability, turn on the toggle to allow us to add gem sockets to this ring while you are at it. So it might be REALLY useful.
Well that is a start to actually making them more desirable.
I think the ring is going to need some big improvements. The ilvl is rather worthless with the current selection on citrines (even the change to time gate wont fix that). All that ilvl is dumped into stam and into slots for citrine with lackluster stats or added effects. Max ring ilvl and all citrine options is not on par with 619 rings. Nobody is chasing gobs of stam. Give a choice of a substantial secondary stat AND citrine sockets. As of now the ring is rather useless unless you are in all vet or lower gear.
As you should. But the insistence that “it has to be perfect the first time or you’ve failed whether you fix it later or not” is unreasonable expectation at best, and petty entitlement at worst. You can expect better while still being happy at what they are doing right, it’s not a one way street. Otherwise you might as well just say “get it right the first time or don’t bothering getting it right at all”
I don’t know about your character, but the difference between the circlet with current gems and with bis gems sims as a 45k dps difference for me
FFXIV would prove otherwise
FF14 is a really fun game though. It just has a poor new player experience that no one will defend
I enjoy the story for what it is, but being forced through it with slow combat isnt fun
Good change. The fact that the dev community didn’t picked up on this in the planning stages is alarming. “Let’s give players a ring, tell them its awesome with a bunch of powers, but not give them those powers for an extended period of time. They’ll love that.”
Who at Blizz really thought this would create anticipation? Also, it’s not necessarily my citrine of choice because I think its cool and neat and I want it. This isnt a transmog. As a DPS, giving me a healing gem and telling me to instead wait for the gems my class needs, is just plain silly. If you don’t want me to use the ring, just say so. Don’t give me healing stuff and call it “my choice”. Tough to have choices when there are no options.
The story is hit or miss recently, in my opinion. I personally skipped the DT launch MSQ and I’ve never done that before. I just couldn’t take it anymore and wanted it to be over. FF XIV has, sadly, already reached its peak story wise and that was 2 expansions ago in Shadowbringers. It is now struggling to coast on its reputation alone.
Calling it a grind is kind of diluting the term.
I liked Dawntrail’s story. It isn’t as good as Shadowbringers or Endwalker but it wasn’t trying to be either. It’s hard to top the climax of a story with the opening of a new one
It didn’t try at all.
Hard disagree
This is a great change, I was expecting this but honestly wasn’t expecting it this week. Thanks for listening to the community about this, keep up the good work. Next season is looking good too.
Haven’t logged in yet, was the hotfix implemented?
they are not available for purchase as of yet
Why? This is how every employer ive ever worked for would treat any mistake. This company touts itself on its exellence, why shouldnt i hold them to it? Lets not forget that this is multuple teams, focus groups, meetings and emails, with years of data and experience at their disposal.
They very much knew what they were trying to do; and they walked it back because theyre on thin ice with like half of the playerbase.
