All Alts Messaged/Stalked By Same Person for RP on Male Human Characters on MG?

I’m posting this on an alt I don’t use because it’s a little spooky and it’s driving me crazy.

As the title mentioned, I’m being messaged – though maybe stalked is a better word – for RP by the same exact person on Moonguard for years on my male human characters (specifically if they’re gay or bi) the second I sit down in Lion’s Rest. They always try to take me out of the city, or away from main RP areas. They’re never RPing with others. DMs are always hypersexual mentions about the character’s burliness. They don’t even have content done on these characters.

This has been going on for years at this point, since Legion or WoD. I need to know if others have experienced this from this person, or if it’s just a me situation – because if it is just a me situation, I’ll need to start putting them on block. I don’t have anyone else to confirm this with.

More details below:

Every single alt of mine that’s a male human – especially if they’re bisexual or gay, though it has happened even if I don’t have any mention of sexuality, they just assume – is dmed by the exact same individual on one of two or three alts the absolute minute I enter into the Lion’s Rest. It doesn’t matter if the alt is brand new, it doesn’t matter if I haven’t used them in forever, and it doesn’t matter if I change their names. Literally, like clockwork.

I have some RP and some messy OOC history with them which complicates matters way back in Legion or WoD, but they also have a habit of switching between alts to message me for RP and pretending they’re someone different. It sounds strange but, they have a very distinct writing style that I have not seen anyone else do, and their typing speed is overwhelming, so it’s pretty easy to tell but it’s only an immediate tell once the RP actually starts.

Sometimes they’re a hedgeknight, other times it’s a drustvar druid. In the past they had an old mage and some other character I can’t remember. They’re all humans with distinct mentions of “bear” or “bara” vibes with guts and body hair. I won’t include their names here, but if you know, you know.

Am I going crazy? Has anyone else in the WOW RP community with masc queer human characters gotten similar messages? Is it just me? I feel like I can no longer RP on WOW and have quit numerous times because I felt like I couldn’t escape them. Do y’all have advice?

Note: I’ll probably delete this in a bit just to make sure.

Register on check pvp so they can’t keep using that to find your alts

Or you can just turn off third party sharing in your account settings. It does mean you can’t use third party sites yourself, but it lets you do it without needing to register for them if you don’t care about that.

This and also make sure that whenever you make a new alt, you go back to this site to uncheck your new alt also.

I am sorry you have to deal with this. I have also been stalked and watched before in the game, and it feels overwhelmingly bad and stressful. Hopefully this person will soon stop bothering you :crossed_fingers:

Hi! Send me an in-game mail so we can chat. I think we are dealing with the same person!

Somebody mentioned check PvP, but as somebody who dealt with a stalker and knew some of the methods they used, change your battle pet names as well, especially if you have anything rare. Changing pet count can help too.

Makes it harder to confirm an identity.

I just want everyone to know, that if you stalk your stalker, it is now counter-espionage, putting you and the stalker on equal terms.

Hope this helps.

That’s RP for you in a nutshell. Dude or gal behind the character? Does not matter!! One example: A player went OOC stating “I don’t kiss other men” I replied “Of course…neither do I” Then, I was asked if I am a lesbian! I was like saaaaaaay whaaaaat…??? No, I am middle age guy with a neck beard appeal. Other player places me on ignore. GREAT!! That was in SWTOR. In WoW, and with an ironical twist, my male characters tend to get the most attention. There seems to be a case of straight women and gay men, both OOC finding themselves attracted to my fellas.

As long as you don’t give out social media or contact info in-game, you should be safe.
