AI RPers - What?

I completely forgot the Island Expeditions existed.

I gotta go tell the guys in the two Warfronts about this.

Ah, but they’re all in Torghast. And after that, they’re all running Scenarios. And then they’re all going to chill at their Garrisons.

Using AI followers to run old content that isn’t as popular anymore is actually not a bad idea.

I wanted some way of selling or automating or otherwise “retiring” expansion-specific content so that it could still run and maybe generate some piffling income for the player.

Conversely, I also think it’d be cool if we unsharded garrisons and I could go in while everyone was out doing other stuff and wreck up the place.

you’d better not touch my priceless draenor artifact collection

I’m going to send your followers on the dumbest assignments I can think of.

Scenarios were cool but I barely remember them.

Blizzard has always been trying to incorporate bite-sized pieces of content to very limited avail. Nothing has really stuck yet.

It is pretty savvy of them to include all games under one sub because I guess each content type buoys the others.

If hardcore or season of discovery is the killer app that gets you to re-sub, lots of people will probably pop their head into retail to mess around just a little bit. It probably isn’t too easy to clearly define who is a “retail player” and who is a “classic player” because while some people are exclusive a lot of folks will just go back and forth based on whatever feels freshest.

I do wonder how Classic will do going forward though because, well, we’ve reached Cata which isn’t exactly the most exciting era of old WoW, and new game modes like sod can only go so far when they’re just a few new abilities in what is otherwise the same old vanilla experience people have done many times.

that’s fine, I’ve gotten most of the achievements i can get out of them anyway.

Hi this is me, I play both.

I prefer ERA/SoD because I like poking my head in every so often. I’m fine with Era/SOD having a very “come and go” playerbase, because atp it’s like any old single player game I’ve already played: it’s sometimes just fun to replay it. I replay Diablo 3 every so often because I like it; Vanilla is the same way.

Of course, probably not best for an MMO metric, but yanno, if I get bored of Vanilla, I can always go to retail for new content.

Snicky snack sized content isn’t bad when it’s added, Blizz is just bad about introducing it then promptly forgetting about it… forever.

Precisely why I wish Follower Dungeons extended to dungeons of past expansions. It’d be nice if I could use them to run dungeons for Order Hall quests, rather than wait in a queue until the heat death of the universe.
