They sort of tried that already in the final scenario on exile isle leveling island where you have to kill the dragon. You get a healer, and a few dps I believe. Tbh wouldn’t mind them building off something like that. Would much rather group with some ai npc’s than most of the rl nerd raging buffoons that play this game lol. To keep things close to the real thing, they could always have a npc randomly act like a douchebag to make it more like you are playing with real people Or just play with real people I guess.
True,. but the best thing about a mmo is the players and the worst thing about a mmo is the players and I would rather not deal with people. And my 15 a month to play by my self is just as good as everyone else’s 15
I understand it’s an mmo and all that, the problem is even when I que with “real life” people, not one thing is hardly ever said until the last boss and then it’s usually “thanks”.
If that is the definition of a MMO, then make my NPCs say thanks after last boss and I wouldn’t know the difference
Once this idea comes up, it’s because the community is already dying, regardless if you play more solo or not.
Is this true? Perhaps.
Why not just keep silently playing with others then? Why do you need AI added?
I understand that, you must play with friends and that would be detrimental. But for me it would bring a lot of excitement as I could level them, gear them ect….
I’m usually solo and I’m calling queuing LFR and dungeons solo because it really is to me.
If you’d rather not deal with people, I cannot believe i’m saying this, then maybe an MMO genre is not for you.
This is coming from an introverted person that also does not want to deal with people at times. I get it, pugs are nightmarish and i’d rather not deal with them either.
I joined a guild and they really want to run keys, raids and such and I think that’s the best experience you can get from an MMO which is what it is originally designed to be.
While that a little to no dialogue exchange is sad, that’s just the way that dungeons are designed now not the problem with the MMO itself.
Mythic Keystones, for example, I actually made friends along the way. Fun fact: I know Fairlight from Emerald Dream from this.
If Fairlight was an NPC, I would not know him by now.
Point is: you’ll never really know. But replacing real life people with AI will make this situation worse.
In theory I would like WoW to do this (mostly because my group is too busy socializing for me to really pay attention to the in-game RP during dungeons and raids, and it would be nice to go in with an NPC “tour group” and actually listen to what’s going on for a change), but in practice…
I still remember trying to do…I think it was the Mistweaver artifact quest in Legion. Or maybe an upgrade quest. Whichever it was, it was a clusterfrag of Taran Zhu “tanking” by standing in one spot doing fists of fury on the boss while adds repeatedly murdered me. The AI would have to be orders of magnitude better before I wanted a whole dungeon/raid group of them.
Play a single player game, lots of those that have what you’re looking for.
This game needs more reason to interact with other players, not less.
I love mmo’s i just don’t like people. I just play what I like and don’t worry about stuff and I have fun. I just don’t like all the systems they keep adding. I raided with my guild until they all left, loved it. Just will not try and find a new one. I like it here.
You like Massively Multiplayer Online. Yet you don’t like people. Players are people. That statement is oxymoron but I get it nonetheless.
And I’m not a big fan of systems either but it is what it is unfortunately.
Well if your guild is not doing anything, you might wanna find a new one that does.
Really sorry about your guild. Iris was my second guild that went idle after the first and so far… it’s not turning up for them.
And THAT is why it’ll never happen.
Ive wondered about this myself. Just let me run dungeons solo and be able to level up getting experience without having to group.
It aint gonna happen. We’re TRYING to pretend this ‘community’ still IS a community and that muh MMOz isnt failing miserably.
Allowing you to do what youre asking for is an admission that this game is dying as an MMO…Ion will NEVER allow that to happen, even if he knows its true.
But it’s off the GCD! And with the right conduit, it even gives you some focus back equaling a DPS gain!
Ahhhhhh!!!
No, to make them more like real players there would have to be a 10% chance that either the tank or healer NPC rage quits just before the last boss.
I’d really love the ability to summon my alts and do m+ with them, gearing up many characters at the same time. As an additional bonus, me and my bestie wouldn’t have to look for 3 others who might bite our heads off at any moment.
If they could get the AI right/believable then this would be great.
I find it disconcerting in HOA how may hunters don’t know they have tranq shot for when bears get too damn big.
Hey hunter, tranq the damn bear, give tank a break.
Huh…tranqulizer?
In HOA I tranq all day long really on my hunters. especially when the tank is he-man’ing it and bit off more than we can chew.
throws scythe at pack of mobs like Thrall “I did good -_-!”
Anyone who wants to play a single player game should go play a single player game. This is an mmoprpg and is designed for teamwork.
I’d welcome this. The pug community is so toxic. It’ll never happen though bc A) blizz will never code it right, and B) failing groups, looking in queue, and leavers increase time wasted metrics.
