[A/H] <The Ebon Covenant> - DK RP LFM

Many years ago, I made a promise along with my brothers and sisters in death: that we would give purpose to those who have lost their way, and a family to those who have none. To keep marching forward when all hope was lost. To liberate Azeroth from threats great and small, because that was all that was left to do.

Over time, our numbers dwindled. Some claimed their final deaths; others simply vanished into the ether, never to be seen again. The fate of The Ebon Blade, it seems, is to slowly fade until there are none left to remind Azeroth that we once lived. But the king’s crown has been shattered, his followers now roam unchained, and we are needed more now than ever to continue our grim work, both here, and now beyond the grave.

So I carry on our name and our legacy, such as it is. To put down the dead wherever they can be found, and to be the one who remembers when all others have forgotten. I am not rebuilding anything. I am not recruiting. But should you also find yourself alone on this endless road we walk, perhaps we might walk together.

Suffer well, my friends.

– Aran Dacey

THE EBON COVENANT

The Ebon Covenant is looking to build a small community of players who like writing engaging stories with other chill adults. We seek to fill the philosophical angle of being a death knight, and to explore the brotherhood that they have built through their shared suffering.

What we are:

  • A small group of friends who RP together under a shared name.

  • An RP community that plays together as our schedules allow.

  • A collective narrative with multiple branching stories.

What we are not:

  • A structured organization with leadership hierarchies and weekly meetings.

  • A project meant to collaborate with other projects or guilds.

  • A DM’d guild that runs a pre-set campaign.

We seek mature, respectful players who can write dark scenes without shock value, who are open to communicate, collaborate, and build our story with us. Our RP happens both in-game and over discord, and is organized as schedules allow so that nobody gets left behind.

We accept death knights and allies to our cause- necromancers, plagueshifters, warlocks, and other sorts. Creatures from the Shadowlands are also welcome within our space. Alts are encouraged! We are open to both Horde and Alliance. Guild membership is not a requirement to join our group. Your character is also not required to be a member of the Ebon Blade.

Combat in Ebon Covenant is handled without RNG or rolling. We trust our players to share the spotlight and tell a good story together. Those interested in roleplaying with us should get familiar with “Yes, and”-- You’re going to be using it a lot. That said, our characters frequently fail. We’re not just here to win. We’re here to grow together, and you should be too.

Recruitment

Still interested? Great!

We are currently seeking out five players to complete our party. To make sure that you’ll vibe with our group, I will conduct a short interview to get to know you and your characters and their motivations and goals and if all goes well, we’ll plot out how to get you involved in the story going forward!

Note: We are not seeking villains or characters that are chaotic/unpredictable in nature.

If this all sounds good to you, reach out to me on discord (@deltacoz), or in-game on ArĂąn-Moon Guard.

Talk to you soon!

Current Goings-On:

The Duskwood Necromancer
A necromancer operating in Duskwood has begun creating crude imitations of death knights using techniques that mimic the Lich King’s work. These false death knights are stiff and jerky but capable, and appear to have been raised of their own free will.

The necromancer seeks specific materials for his work, including a mysterious vial containing unknown contents essential to the creation process. When confronted, his creations claimed their master was “improving upon flawed designs” and that Lich King death knights were “obsolete relics.”

The true scope of the necromancer’s plan remains unclear. His servants escaped with the vial after a violent confrontation, leaving behind only questions and one destroyed corpse to examine.

The night elf death knight Velathandir and “ebonmender” Esmarie used their particular skills to temporarily revive the ‘death knight’ corpse, and with it came a great deal of unfortunate information.

Aran’s initial fear that The Cult of The Damned had gained a foothold in Duskwood was not unfounded. The corpse, named Ryland, was recruited by a person known only as The Maker, and their group was discovered to be hiding deep within the catacombs– far outside the view of any accidental passersby. They have agreed to meet there in several days time and put an end to this branch of the cult for good.

Afterwards, they will travel to Northrend with their new companion Nikolaos to deal with the encroaching scourge there. A necropolis needs infiltrating, and who better to do it than those who have already done it before? Stay tuned!

Updating our main post to be a little clearer about what it is we’re doing.

This is not a recruitment post for a guild. This is an open invitation for those who have spooky deaders or others who are looking for a consistent group of friends to RP with.

If that’s you, hope to talk to you soon!

I for one have been quite enjoying my somewhat infrequent encounters with the Covenant and look forward to many more in the future.

Sincerely, that last weird guy consistently playing a non(ish)-spooky living Death Knight

The concept sounds interesting, I’ve never gotten around to RPing in a Death Knight group before, maybe I’ll try and run into y’all at some point.

By all means, you’re welcome to say hi if you happen to see us floating around.

We’ve been very busy this past week, with one campaign wrapping up, and looking ahead towards another. Always looking for more.
