No, you wouldn’t be able to undercut because you wouldn’t be setting the price. That’s the point.
This is why things that actually matter are still server specific. Secondly I cant speak for tich because its more of a PvP mindset server but on Area52 I have noticed no difference in price.
I guess I do understand it from that perspective. Do you mind if I ask for an example of that type of item you would do that for? Is it commodities/pets/tmog? I find that a large undercut on a slow moving market really doesn’t help all that much. If someone is going for ATT or finding a specific tmog they won’t care if it’s 20k or 10k for price they just typically buy it for other reasons price isn’t too much of a nitpick that buyer typically has.
That’s my point. That’s what Blizzard is trying to get to using infra that was built 20 years ago.
Commodities only. The other two are still server specific. Op is freaking out over nothing. Only Commodities are xrealm. People on low pop servers are probably getting them cheaper than they have ever seen them
If I do a pet cleanup (when I realize I have too many triple) yea I will even if that means people will try to resell them. Selling tmog I have no time for that, I might as well vendor them.
LOL i remember you i read a thread where you were basically calling people stupid for thinking prices would go down claiming that theres a finite number of mats and it would all go up that was funny
Which is literally what I knew would happen.
One guy posts Laestrite for 1g.
Then before you can blink a thousand others undercut.
And now no one can reset the market.
I mean all things equal there is infinite demand and limited supply, there’s a limit on how much can be farmer in a day. The consumption limit is higher, since crafting consumes far more mats far faster than gathering them.
I didn’t factor in the fact people will undercut by factors of 10 for no reason whatsoever, and the compounding nature of that at scale.
Being wrong has been profitable though.
It’s funny for the longest time the server I was on was low pop then we got merged with a bunch of servers and it still feels low pop. Don’t get me wrong I do support the region wide merge. I just have questions about the direction of the AH moving forward. Besides legendaries in SL not much of a gold sink like previous expansions and I just wonder if these changes not only had the intention of helping low pop servers feel better but also preparation for the changes in DF.
Sorry but Free market if i wanna sell my leather at 11 silver and your wanting to sell at 11 gold that is a you problem for being over priced.
Im glad things are cheaper. I have to deal with inflation outside the game would be nice to finally buy things cheap for once again
My apologies my question must not have been clear. I know the merge on the AH was commodities only. My question was more interested in the theory of undercutting by lets say 50% or more to sell faster what type of items that person was applying that theory to.
It isn’t ‘screwing’ the entire playerbase. It is only the people who want to sell items at a higher than normal market value that are having problems. I actually paid for game time to take advantage of some of the low prices there was on some items I normally buy.
Unfortunately, someone decided to buy up 10k of them to reset the price and now they are high again.
Hahaha no there isnt keep flying around in circles and all mats keep respawning
Hard no on that one. If someone wants to lose money by posting items below their value then that’s fine because you have other sellers willing to snatch those items up and resell them at a nice profit. There are sellers whose main income is doing this, so no,we don’t need restrictions because you’re upset that someone undercut you. Welcome to the free market. Learn and adapt.
I guess I dont notice this because I am on Area52 the Highest pop Horde server in wow pretty much. This exact thing has been happening there since always Nothing new. I mean heck 291 Leggys are often as low as 12-9k there.
It will be MUCH MORE noticeable on med to low pop realms
what? LIFO is relevant only when the price of a good is the same. You force LIFO into FIFO and someone will just undercut.
good. When people are free to dump mats for 1c profit then some people will exit and the demand will go up, causing prices to rise.
There is x amount of people spending Y amount of time performing the task.
There is not unlimited wow players with unlimited time performing the task, therefor it is limited supply.
Like I said then, unlimited supply would be buying something from a vendor. You can buy vendor mats infinitely, there is no limit aside from gold and bag space.
Somebody needs to physically farm mats to make them show up, which limits the supply of that good. Whereas total demand is higher than total supply, which is why the cost of goods was higher on low and med pop servers, therefor all things being equal there would be an increase in cost due to the increase in supply.
But there’s also people selling mats for under a quarter what they were going for on the cheapest realms in the game right now, which has a massive impact at scale.
I guess I better go buy laestrite while it is cheap - 3g each now
Blah blah blah your still wrong theres millions who play this game
