AH items on Nightslayer - Ally

Why do you talk about gdkp’s so much if you’ve never done more than a crappy trade chat one? Its just as dishonest as me saying SR is a horrible loot system because pugs only sr the same items and leave when they don’t drop, even though SR works for almost any organized run that wants to use it.

Hey man, it’s really important to understand that the wealth that is redistributed in GDKP often comes from purchased gold. All GDKP really did was let you buy gold without buying gold, but it’s still ultimately the same source.

I know we’ve talked about GDKP before so please understand that I’m not attacking your preference here, just noting that GKDP wasn’t a solution to gold buying, it was just a way to get large quantities of purchased gold without buying. You’re absolutely correct in that more people resort to buying directly in the absence of GDKP, but that doesn’t mean that GDKP was good (in this regard).

May I ask then if you feel that banning arena is the solution to stopping those who cheat in arena?

I’ve played arena competitively since mop, and every season there are cheaters who take rewards away from legitimate players.

Gold buying is the problem not gdkp. They should ban arena, ban the AH, and any other exploitable system if that is the way forward.

I think your analogy doesn’t quite compare on an equal basis. If you want to use it on the arena side, then you’d have to compare it to banning PvP, not just one player-driven aspect of it. I think the closest you could come in an analogy here would be to ban consumables in Arena, which they actually did at some point along the way, didn’t they?

Most people don’t use GDKP because they think it’s a good reward system. They do it because they can make a lot of gold from other players by doing it. I think we talked about this before but, fundamentally, it’s a paid carry that you only get paid for if the loot actually drops. Outside of that it’s just not really all that different.

To get in those runs, you need gold, and if you’re not the person doing the carrying you’ve got to get large quantities of gold on an early-game character from somewhere. If you’re an established character playing an alt you might have gotten those large quantities of gold from doing GDKP runs on your main, but if you’re a fresh player (or just broke), there’s pretty strong incentive to find your gold elsewhere.

That’s why Blizzard felt it was necessary to put a stop to it. The only reason you want GDKP is so that you can acquire gold that you can use to buy consumables, but you don’t really care where that gold came from. If you didn’t need to buy consumables, you would probably be quite happy to use a more traditional loot method, such as LC or DKP. Therein lies the problem… GDKP is just a really strong driver of gold buying.

Make no mistake here, it’s not the only one! Raid consumables themselves are also another part of the equation. I personally feel that making them all BoP (or even BoA) would go a long way to solving what’s happening with WoW right now as it really just eliminates the other half of what people want to spend their gold on (the first half previously being gear in GDKPs). If they did this, the initial reaction would be that a lot of people would quit, but I think in the long term it would force people to really think about whether or not they need the consumables that they currently use without much regard.

what difference does it make?

my comment is still valid, and true. you dont take people who only want to farm gold. it doesnt matter how good or bad the gdkp is or where it originates from. my comment is still true.

See? You have no idea how organized gdkp’s work and it shows. You try to speak like an authority when you’ve never even been in one.

Its objectively wrong

I’m at the gym so I don’t really want to read all that, but I promise you you don’t need gold to get in. I’ve been asked maybe once how much gold I have, and you can easily take screenshots of gold in your bags.

Gdkps are about efficient clears where no gear goes to waste (ideally) and everyone is compensated.

If you find a pair of edgemasters right now, do you think the level 58 warrior who pays 7k gold for them farmed that gold legit?

i know exactly how gdkp work. the problem is you just cant stand to be wrong.

You wouldn’t have gotten into one with your skill level.

How would you know? You could never get passed the log check to get into one. You don’t know anything about gdkp’s you can’t just repeat word for word from some heckin youtuber’s video essay they lied for clicks in.

The anti-GDKP crowd cant admit they were wrong and just cope hard now, its hilarious.

THATS A PROJECTION LOL

How is killing a boss then bidding on gear cheating? Rolling a die is cheating too then.

you are paying to win. thats cheating.

Getting gear is winning? Is that what it says in the game guide?
Complete your bis complete the game?

buying gear trhat was never intended to be sold is cheating. whather you like it or not. ti doesnt matter the type of mental gymnastics you use. buying raid gear is still cheating. period.

I thought cheating was when you gained an unfair advantage?

getting all the loot because you had more gold is an unfair advantage. thats cheating by your own definition. nice self own

No it just means you farmed more gold. More time invested, more reward.

You dumb as hell lmfao.
