Found this through Google, and it wasn’t helpful - I found the solution to turn on the threat plates.
Go to your retail WoW folder -> WTF>Account>#name# folder
Open the config_cache.wtf file and add the line ‘SET threatShowNumeric “1”’
This re-enables the plates in game - tanks can now track which enemies they lost track of… lol.
