Please allow our Season of Discovery characters a cloning option for TBC Anniversary.
You could easily implement restrictions — remove all SoD-specific gear, runes, and gold — effectively stripping the character of anything Season-related while still preserving the core character we’ve invested so much time into.
Even with a hefty clone fee, many of us would gladly pay it just to continue the journey of a character we’ve poured thousands of hours into. We believed there would be a true place to “migrate” our characters — not simply let them fade away on a dying realm.
Please allow this simple yet meaningful cloning feature for Season of Discovery characters, so we can continue our adventures on the characters we love.

Tbh i dont think theyll do a hefty clone fee (just look at tbc classic clone to era). but i am all for being able to move our chars to TBC/Mop classic, as for sod specefic gear i think they should just render them useless and make them cosmetic
Totally agree. Remove all SoD-related items—gear, gold, and anything that provides a power advantage—and allow us to transfer a traditional version of our characters. I, along with plenty of others I know, would gladly pay a hefty clone fee if Blizzard decided to make it available.
There is 0% chance they would do this without messing things up. See sod and anniversary being in the same AVs on release and having things bleed over (thanks for making chronoboon 1g instead of 10).

No, because then people can just level at lightspeed in SoD and then transfer over to anniversary, effectively killing the leveling scene in anniversary.
Maybe offer a 1 time / limited time (3 day window) clone option? After that window, close it. That would pretty much kill the hope of power leveling → transferring from sod.
I heard Crusader Strike to Wild Growth transfers just opened but haven’t been able to check myself. Also didn’t read the thread as this is for TBC, woops.
now with tbc announced this 100% should happen
100% they should, even if it costs a ton. Give us an opportunity to continue our characters we put so much time into!

最近的社區經理您好：我是一名亞洲服SOD玩家，服務器名稱叫十字軍聖擊，主要角色ID是：風吻之刃，以上實名信息只是想證明我是一個真正熱愛暴雪游戲的老玩家，即使在探索賽季也追求完美。今天看到官方公佈周年服務器的轉移服務，想哭訴一下我們亞洲服的真實情況。目前亞洲探索服務器在綫人數已經不足20人，一個團隊突襲都無法組織進行，而且這裏是GDKP形式，沒有常駐的活躍工會，强烈申請藉助這次周年服升級，讓我們這些喜愛TBC的玩家能夠有償的轉移過去，哪怕是我們在經典60級服務器的角色轉移過去也可以，這些都是我們的心血保留，就是當年2021年懷舊經典開放tbc版本的時候也是可以付費保留和轉移過去的啊，希望社區經理能有空關注一下我們亞洲玩家情況，給與一次機會，讓我們不至於在無人存在的服務器孤寂等死，再次感謝本貼的貼主：Zalikqt，謝謝你的呼聲帖子，讓我也能有發聲的機會。
We put hundreds of hours into our characters - essentially helping to test Classic+ for them - and now they’re just letting our characters rot on dying realms? That’s unacceptable from the development team. There is absolutely a feasible path toward a TBC anniversary, and they should allow transfers/cloning for the players who invested countless hours into their SoD characters.

A cloning option IMO, is not good enough. Because it will have felt like I wasted time leveling on anniversary in preparation for TBC, when I could have just waited and cloned my character. So no, I don’t want that.
They already essentially let you clone your character for free by giving you a free level 85 character boost for MoP. They are not obligated to do anything else for you. However it would be nice to have a Phase 9, or our SoD transition into its own version of TBC. Separate from anniversary TBC. Or let me have my fluorescent Gnomergan mount in retail, then I would be satisfied.
Also here’s a hot take. Maybe if your guild didn’t act like jerks and a highschool clique, maybe players wouldn’t be quitting in droves, and it would have had a healthy population similar to classic era. But instead all that is left is your guild full of abnormal behavior people causing people to quit the game.
Okay, got it — so my character will just rot forever. That seems like a great way to encourage player growth. All it really makes me (and others) want to do is quit or unsubscribe, which feels completely counter-intuitive. How about opening up a cloning option so we can continue in different versions of the game? Charge me $200 — I don’t care. At the very least, give SoD players an option to continue, not simply fade away. This is not the ‘migration’ as Aggrend once described.
As for the guild comments, I joined these guys like 15 minutes ago, so whatever you experienced, has nothing to do with me.

這位朋友您好，很感謝你為SOD做出的努力，我作爲一名亞洲服務器玩家表示非常的氣憤與不解，爲什麽亞洲服務器沒有任何人願意關注，暴雪的官方X賬號基本不提亞洲服務器狀態，能不能去關注一下亞洲服務器，現在那邊的SOD已經無法凑夠30個在綫人數，我在ERA SOD和正式服都有角色，請問暴雪的社區經理，是不是你們每次開發一個服務器玩法，我都要重新去練一個角色，沒有人玩的服務器，我的辛苦培養的角色就要跟服務器一起爛掉。
or we should be able to atleast move our chars to mop similar to how once som ended everyone went to era or wrath

i wouldnt mind a fee to transfer to era even if it renders sod gear useless
if anything it’d make sense to just give you a boost if you cleared a SE boss like they did with MoP, if they can’t even handle an era/tbc clone process this time I doubt they’d be able to pull off a sod/tbc clone
Hold them to a higher standard. It’s not that hard.
