After the classic content is all released

Actually I’d disagree with that. Yeah I’m still playing, but I’ve been playing since Vanilla. My wife and about 15 friends would all come back for a Wrath server. Of that group 3 of us still somewhat play and all of us are just doing so to kill some 2-3am time until Classic comes out.

All of that 15 played from Vanilla until at least Cata, and as I said, only 3 of us sort of play. Wrsth is the favored because it was the point where almost everyone could do everything, the exception would be heroic raiding.

In tbc it was subtle though. There was some welfare gear but you weren’t getting a full set of current gear.
Wrath was when we began the whole each tier invalidates the tier before, heavy handed homogenization and nerfing dungeons into a joke.

And don’t even get me started on rep grinding

Anything expanded past Naxx should be a optional server choice. If it is the addition of content that was never completed for Vanilla or TBC. The Classic WoW Vanilla server type should be locked at the Naxx state until Blizzard closes server due to financial reasons. If its 5 10 or 40 years. I want to be in my late 60s dying of radiation from the cell towers that people decided not to pay attention to as I sit in front of org and duel people.

To be fair I also remember how most of the people complaining about how “easy” ICC was were people who had only downed 6 bosses on normal mode(and it was always the same 6 bosses).

Other than a few fights like lootship, ICC heroic was on par with Ulduar hardmodes.

Though I agree Naxx was a joke, and ToC barely should even be called a raid.

and much like people during WotLK, I usually forget Ruby Sanctum exists =P

Though opening a server shouldn’t be dependent on if we on the Classic forums like it. It should be about if Blizzard thinks there is enough demand.

Which, if nothing else, the private servers maintain a pretty solid population. If I remember right, I think it’s higher than TBC ones.

And i got a couple dozen friends alone who would come back for burning crusade but wouldn’t touch wrath.

Notice what you said. You’re still playing. Thats because retail is very similar to wrath in a lot of regards.

I see TBC and WotLK being too much of an opportunity for blizz/activision to pass up.

Firstly, they have data for both TBC and WotLK (and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s more well documented). They know there is a market for both of these expansions given the thousands of players playing private servers. Knowing this, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have these expansions in mind when making classic and are getting a pipeline that can quickly transfer their older data sets into a modern client.

Furthermore, if they charge players to transfer their characters from one expansion to the next there is going to be some sizeable profit ($15-$20 a toon). Transfers also provides a way for them to Shepard some players back into the retail game by providing subscriptions after those realms have stagnated.

Finally, this gives them even bigger grounds to shutdown some of those more popular private servers.

Just from a business standpoint I just don’t see how they will pass up this option.

On a personal standpoint, I don’t mind either way. While ultimately I would prefer to progress through all of vanilla --> TBC --> WotLK new content could be fun and/or interesting. If we just get vanilla I would be happy too.

I’d hardly call it playing, I’m basically killing time.

Banging head against the wall

man… you people…

I dont recall working at blizzard, or being a dev, or having any way of doing anything to this game… Im just a player, just like you, I’m not forcing anyoe to do anything. if you think what I said on this thread is GOING TO HAPPEN NO MATTER WHAT OR THE GAME WILL NEVER WORK EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER…

then you have some mental issues that you need to work out.

you’re all free to have you opinion, just like I am, and this is all hypothetical anyways, all of it is, everything that isnt blue posted is HYPOTHETICAL lol, they could put in voice acting for all we know…

Im not asking to change anything, I’m asking a hypothetical question about what will happen years down the line, to which NO ONE has any idea what will actually happen, no the devs, not blizzard CEO, not joe blow off the street.

just wanted to jog a little discussion in here, but it seems like there are certain people that just cant do that, they miss the point completely, and then get an “IM RIGHT YOUR WRONG” attitude, and then nothing can be discussed.

                                                             (Sarcasm)

(Sarcasm ---->)now excuse me while I go and type EXACTLY what will happen in classic wow, because according you some people I have total power to do that… (<---- sarcasm)

All good points.

I’m being very selfish, but if they release BC and Wrath as post-Classic content I want them to do it as patches to Classic tuned for level 60 same game mechanics and make them properly hard. Delete Naxx 2.0 all together, it was insulting.

Thats asking a lot for a game that we don’t know yet if it will be a success.

Understand that feeling but i founf other games to kill time in.

Mmo’s is what I play and sadly it’s still about the best out there even with its issues.

Except we do have what the devs have said.
They want classic wow to be authentic and they want it to be a museum piece.

Provided we still had servers that stayed authentic Classic for those who wanted that, I can’t say as I would personally be upset by a Classic+ mode. It could even be fun if done right.

Though I’d get that some people would be upset by the fact of not getting authentic TBC/WotLK servers.

As long as we’re deleting stuff, can we delete all the sci-fi space ship stuff from TBC?

and Blood Elves being Horde?

Actually, can we just re-write TBC entirely to not bend the lore over a barrel?

Nah. Final fantasy 14 blows it out of the way in just about every way.

Matcauthon you must be so fun at parties… “im right your wrong” really man… get off it already

It’s just WoW with a different look. Done that already and much like several others when it was said and done I decided if I was going to do the exact same things I was gonna be doing in WoW, I might as well just play WoW.

It has its appeal but it also had some things that really ticked me off.

To each their own but even with the more beast-like Hrothgar being in the next expansion (I always wanted a monster/ugly race in the game that’s filled with heavenly beautiful people or creepy loli midgets), I just couldn’t get past the main story being required for just about any feature you could think of in the game.

That and I thought it was pretty boring to play, with hilariously weird monster design.

God I can’t wait for Classic.

I’m just giving you facts. You’re the one whose spent the past how long telling us we didn’t understand what you were asking for? (Hint i knew right away, you’re hardly the first to ask for it).

I sense a lot of frustration in you, Paladin.

How could Blizzard give a response on this yet?

Some people think Vanilla servers will be ghost towns before the 1 year mark.

Years down the line, is not really what we care about at the moment. It is entirely possible that the players that make the Classic reboot work want fresh servers to reroll on every 18-24 months. It is possible Blizzard will try Burning Crusade servers.

Hell, we don’t even know what the debuff limit is, if sharding will/won’t be in the game, character models/graphics, client version, addons etc.

Come back after guilds are on BWL and ask this imo.

Yeah, if there are resets they would have to do it like Diablo 3 does seasons, where the characters after a season reset end up on a normal realm that never resets and a new “seasonal” realm resets. But you cant have people losing their characters into the void, thats one of the complaints about private servers.
