After 3 weeks of playing reworked frost

Its really just not wasting icicles and shatter as many glacial spikes as possible, either before or after flurry. I find frost easier to play than shadow priests

have to hard disagree, but thats just my opinion. spamming ice lance was the most boring gameplay ever. Glacial spike is a very good spell and easy to play around

The new frost is ok. Sucks though when icy vein is down. But I still will play frost over arcane. Better survival. Can’t play fire. Can’t get the haste that is needed without dumping a tier item.

ray of frost and glacier spike have different playstyles. Ray of frost is used in single target raid playing. While glacier spike is used mostly in mythic plus and raids. I don’t like taking ray because it is another button to use. Too many mage abilities as it is. They never did prune mage abilities. They just adjusted the talent trees. We have so many snares. Frost nova, ring of frost, ice nova, blast wave. Rather them give us a stronger shield then a bunch of snares. Keep dragon breath though. it is useful for all mage specs in mythic plus.

Also maybe add a few more charges to icy floes. Love that spell. Makes the shifting power spell more viable too. Pop a icy floe then hit shift for a moving aoe.

Just set a priority function that FoF do not remove WC and refresh the buff duration. FoF are always used ahead of WC.
and while we’re at it gimme 4 caps of FoF instead of 2.
EZ PZ proc munching gone.

I terms of better survival, I think Fire might be the best. Because its primary stats are haste/Vers. All of the versatility they stack just makes the spec naturally more tanky.

I stepped into some 21’s on fortified and the trash auto-shoot attacks hit for like 300k.

Personally, I can’t stand the frost rotation in raid now but I’m too tired to try arcane right now.

One thing I don’t get from the guides (magehub specifically) is it says Flurry is my priority after a frost bolt or glacial spike. When am I casting Glacial Spike in a raid if not after a flurry and, if I cast flurry before that Glacial Spike (the one that procs after I’ve cast my first post-flurry Ice Lance) am I not wasting the GS which would have crit on my second charge of Winters Chill by casting Flurry before it?

Raiding as frost feels like the hot mess Shadowpriest was before the rework and while it does good numbers it is not at all enjoyable to me. Orb/Freezing Winds feels completely out of place now and the only time I seem to be casting the FoF proc’d Ice Lances is when I’m moving for the most part.

The two spells into WC is cumbersome now that GS and RoF are the follow-up.

I didn’t want boring ice lance spam anymore but what Frost has become in raids is nothing I want to stick with and at some point I’m gonna have to bite the bullet and try arcane (I don’t like Fire at all) or shelve the mage (again).

I think the guide says to glacial spike into a WC to consume the debuff if it’s already there. If WC is not there, then cast GS followed by a flurry. Flurry will arrive first and put a WC on the target, and the GS will still shatter and not consume the debuff.
