Can’t be said enough how true this is. I’ve been to RP events that had better writing than the main story of the game.
I know and I don’t care that you don’t care the fact that you wasted your breath telling me this is pointless and you should just delete it too
Hey I could do the same quests all day, that’s what the game is, there is no complaints there at all
Although I really think that the catering to the ABCDXYZ (and growing day by day) in the writing is pathetic and I don’t care for it because its forced, that’s not what I am referring to. I think that by burning through a lot of the old mysteries they have made the world of warcraft a worse place. Even though I like certain aspects of the SL they should have never taken us there and destroyed the mystery, same thing with N’Zoth he was better as an unknown.
I get points number 2 and 3, but on point number 1 it sounds like maybe just quitting these forums would work.
looks at box
Says MMO here… doesn’t that mean “multiplayer”?
As in… you group with people to accomplish stuff?
I think you have the wrong game.
Try Skyrim or Baldur’s Gate maybe? OH! Or Diablo! That’s a “OP Single player game” too!
I don’t feel that way about the Shadowlands, it’s nice seeing new zones and how the art team interpreted these fundamental themes. A world like Bastion or Maldraxxus can never exist irl, with floating cities and towers made of bone and flesh.
But I did feel that way with Legion. The pantheon don’t seem like a big deal when we’re standing right next to them and they’re buffing us during the fight. It felt very weird.
Also i really do think Argus should have been physically as big as Azeroth.
I listen to speculation from T&E, Bel, Accolon, and Soul all of them have put out speculation on WOW lore that was miles better than what it turned out to be. They also give good points on why the lore going in the direction it has, has been counter intuitive. I just think if you have people working on the game that are making things counter intuitive and it seems that way to the ley people, then you might want to reconsider who you have working on things, just sayin.
I’ll respectfully disagree. The SL is probably the worst expansion idea you can do because destruction is so absolute, so final. What happened at the end of Antorus was tragic, the assisted kill of a Titan was such a horrible idea considering even the most maxed out players still die fairly easily and are not immortal beings. I will not say I don’t like the ideas that they came up with for the zones, factions in SL, but to take us there was a bad idea. What comes after we defeat death, or how much worse will it be if Sylvanas becomes the new Jailor? Those endings would be ret@rded, and if people will sit for that they’ll sit for anything. I also do not like what they did with the powers of the light and void, the simple way it was in Classic where light was good and dark was bad was fine. It was not a metaphore for anything, it was based on older mythos and traditions it was fine and I liked playing as the dark evil character it was fun.
People who write D&D campaigns put more thought and effort into the story than the WoW devs. Really, it seems to be a universal Blizzard issue, given the issues with Overwatch as well. I still remember when Michael Chu, who was the “lead writer” on Overwatch, left the company. And I had to wonder what he even did given we’re five years later and no story.
Blizzard seems to have moved past writing stories and just focus on making games that keep you motivated to log in. It’s definitely not my preferred game type and why I still think Fortnite caused damage to the gaming industry.
I literally just googled the definition.
- an online role-playing video game in which a very large number of people participate simultaneously.
Not one place in that definition does it say we must be grouped up. That is and has been false assumption.
Generally speaking games like this are group games by design.
Sorry to burst you bubble and wreck your “definition”.
WoW is not DESIGNED as a solo game. It just has parts that you can solo because they are easy.
OMG I’ve never wanted to hug something so bad in my life. lol.
I don’t necessarily disagree with you, but I’m going to continue playing.
The writing and the development of the lore since after WOTLK has gone from bad to worse. It seems than rather than write good stories, they drag up characters from old ones and destroy them completely, they have done this with Thrall, Jaina, Sylvanas, Uther, Tirion, the burning legion, the powers of the light and the void, and now the shadowlands
When it was as simple as humans were good and orcs a savage threat that was fine and believable, when it was living vs undead that was fine, when the holy light was good and the powers of darkness pure evil that made sense!
Nowadays, they want the light to be controlling and oppressive, they want the void to offer “options” !!! They have obliterated Uthor and given Arthas that patricidal maniac a chance at redemption!!! Not to mention all the forced fan fiction they insert into the game simply for the sake of having it there however misplaced and overtly obvious it is.
Only in WOW could the current writers have work.
It got way worse than in BFA.
