I’m sorry affliction locks don’t automatically lose to everything. Maybe next patch we can.
100% agree. Affliction has been left behind and isn’t scaling correctly.
Even with a full spread of dots, they take 50% of the damage done by all other classes over 20 seconds.
Starsurge does 600 damage instantly. Curse of agony does 600 damage(after spellpower added) over 30 seconds. Tell me how this makes sense???

wait till lvl 50 and we’ll be god tier. we’re not gonna get buffs we’re balanced. once we’re able to run full demo with UA/SL and instant corruption imp drain life… its over
Locks will live but won’t do any meaningful damage at that rate. Yes, they’ll be BiS cap defends in AB. Yes, they’ll duel well. In group pvp, running that setup they’ll be curse bots.
Speaking specifically from a pvp perspective about affliction, my biggest take away is that the runes for aff are a bloody mess.
Only viable chest rune is master channeler, but you never want to be close enough to cast drain life
Gloves haunt is fine, and boots everyone always only gets the spellpower buff as all builds. Also fine tbh.
But then you get to belt and pants:
You can’t crit, so shadow and flame is out for belt
Invocation only does damage at the very end of your dots, if you manually refresh them… But everlasting affliction on pants refreshes your biggest dot for your constantly
Synergy only does damage if your pet is on target which you don’t really do in sod pvp, they die too damn fast.
Then pants you can only choose between Demonic pact and everlasting affliction… Invocation won’t work with EA, but pact requires your pet on target, in which case you might as well use synergy.
Then again the uptime for pact is really bad if you don’t take the crit chance rune for chest
It’s a mess… And despite one of the runes literally being named synergy, the runes as a whole for affliction, don’t have any.
I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope that build doesn’t become the meta.

I agree with you on that everything else should get a damage nerf instead, but we know blizzard never likes taking a step back and admitting mistakes were made.
As it currently stands affliction’s damage profile is so weak there are no logs for it in gnomer, check it out if you don’t believe me.
A full aff specced/properly geared lock will have weaker dots than a spriest,boomkin or even fire mage (lol), and that is on haunted targets.
If we factor in non-haunted lock dots are even more abysmal.
The recent buff to moonkin form has moonfire and sunfire ticking at well over 150 damage per tick, a spriests voidplague can tick up to 300 when weaving is stacked and a fire mage’s living bomb + flame both tick over 100 and then there’s ignite which puts all of the “dot classes” ahead of affli except for one minor detail, the other classes have burst on top of their strong dots, aff cant burst much outside of haunt’s direct damage or nightfall procs (lol) and their dots dont deal much to compensate for the lack of burst, not to mention the master channeler dot has a crippling range issue which can remove it by outdistancing.
In order for this spec to be “balanced” within this meta it would need to have the best dots just to compensate for it’s lack of burst.
