Come one, come all, to provide suggestions for quality of life improvements for Affliction!
To get us started, might I suggest:
Casting Drain Soul while a Drain Soul is already channelling, adds to the duration, rather than recasts the ability. Similar to Disintegrate for Evokers.
Have Nightfall (or another talent even) allow Drain Soul to be cast while moving. Having to stop a Drain Soul channel to do a mechanic feels harsh, especially when it might be an empowered Drain Soul through Nightfall.
Free Malefic Rapture charges from Tormented Crescendo can be cast while still channelling Drain Soul without interrupting the channel and are non-global-cooldown.
Give Tormented Crescendo an on-screen visual.
Make Phantom Singularity attached to the Warlock, rather than an enemy, so you damage and drain life from your position. This is so if the enemy the ability is cast on dies, you don’t miss out on some of the remaining time from the effect.
Shadows Embrace falls off one stack at a time, rather than all at once.
Have Haunted Soul simply increase the damage of damage-over-time effects for 18 seconds, rather than needing a Haunt to be active on an enemy. There are times when Haunt is dropping off frequently dying enemies, or the worst is when an enemy dies while a Haunt is in travel-time to hit the enemy, and nothing happens, and Haunt is still on cooldown.
all decent suggestions that will never even be considered let alone implemented. In fact despite us being in need of serious buffs we keep getting nerfed while melee receive buffs making it even harder to deal with melee.
ive been playing affliction for many years and seeing the way melee always surpasses us in every way makes we question whether or not this game is healthy to continue.
Its never been about the damage but thats all the have ever thought of giving us.
Then at some point those changes get reverted while melee buffs stack and stack over time.
The worst part about it is the gaslighting by these players, trying to make you believe its something that youre doing wrong, and not the severe imbalance in PvP.
Just think about all the abilities we once had that were to help with these issues yet they are all gone. Blood Horror, KJ cunning, Soulburn: Soulswap, Casting circle, im sure there is more but i cant remember.
Now imagine how insanely fun casters would be if we had 100% uptime like melee along with enough stuns/interupts to keep 90% CC uptime before the very same cds come back, just like melee. Also would be interesting to reduce all of our movement ability CDs to 1-30 seconds to make sure the enemy melee can never escape.
That sound ridiculous doesnt it? Thats literally what it feel like to play against melee in this game, and the worst part is Blizz always finds a way to make it even worse for us.
Im starting to believe casters dont exist in this game for diversity, purely as target practice for the melee population in this game since thats all Blizzard cares about.
If anything, the DoT should transfer to a nearby enemy target with the remaining duration. Forcing us to have to run into melee as a caster for a talent isn’t a great option.
Not sure why they limited UA to one target, which is a restriction that ability never had in the entire history of the game. You can take the pvp talent for 3 targets, but then UA is weakened to an insta dispel.
Ability to apply multiple dots at once, to multiple targets at once. Like it used to have. Ability to extend dots on multiple targets, like it used to have. Consolidate some of the secondary buffs and debuffs that are part of the core rotation, so I don’t need 8 weakauras on screen attempting to keep 100% uptime on all of them. The spec feels like it was broken into a dozen pieces and the rotation now is attempting to hold it all together into something that sort of works, but not really.
Man all I want is to not be locked out of everything when I get kicked when doing drain soul or malefic rapture. If they could make it so we had more than one damage type that’s be poggers.
Its been restricted to 1 target the last 3 expansions… so ya I guess if you ignore the last 6 years of history, it’s never been that way for the entire history of the game.
