Affliction PVP

OP is not asking to play at that level, yeah I’ve seen it happen, but it’s not 100% guarantee they can CC you and your partner before the seed dies

And again, melee is the keyword there, hence again situational

I would never use Drain Soul in PvP, the drain life buff is incredible if you get that to 50 stacks

Doesn’t matter the level of play. It’s still the superior talent.

Again you can soulshape into positioning to get a CC or fear off.

Soulshape is good in every situation.

Drain soul is an execute. Drain life is also superior to DB even at low stacks.

All 3 have to focus on position and kite but affliction doesn’t have pet stun or double coil and can do far more mobile damage so it should realistically always be focused on keeping its dots up and having escape tools to rotate.

Soulrot/shape also gives aff a extra spell line and escape that is almost required. It’s nice on destro and demo but again they have playstyles for both.

In saying that getting trapped as necro is a lot more dangerous then nf bc again… no shape escape.

I run NL aff. It’s fine. You all say NF is mando, but at the end of the day aff has gone forever without soulshape and soul rot and it ain’t gonna be there forever either. NF is def preferred but NL is fine.

And I don’t understand someone saying they you would drain soul over DEcimating bolt? It amplifies Drain soul damage, then modifies it more based off missing health, so if you could execute a dec bolt followed by drain soul for the kill why wouldn’t you?

Depends on your definition of “fine”. In the current meta you are at a severe disadvantage playing only affliction as anything but NF. You cant compare not having soulshape to now because other classes didnt have the same mobility.

Because the damage is weak and doesnt synergize with aff at all.

You said you would drain soul as an execute? If u can afford the two extra seconds for decimating bolt why would you not do the 5k or whatever and make that drain soul do 100something % more. It buffs drain soul, so if u are gonna drain soul as an execute having it buffed helps with securing a kill.

Drain soul IS an execute.

Because its worthless.

Run the talent…I know it’s an execute. I get the feeling you need to reread the tooltip with drain soul speccd

Affliction
Hurl bolts of decimating magic at your target, dealing [4 * (34.5% of Spell power)] Shadow damage and increasing the damage of your next Drain Soul by 100%.

Decimating Bolt’s damage, and the bonus to Drain Soul both increase as your target’s health decreases.

So again if ur gonna run drain soul to help with execute damage, why would u not buff it, not sure how that’s “worthless”. I’ll concede NF is preferable but u act like someone can’t push as a nl.

If youre playing necro affliction youre handicapping your team period.

This isnt rocket science.

Maybe a handicap if this is ur first xpac playing aff

Its not, I just actually understand how the game works from playing at a higher level than 1800.

Its why the only people saying Necro Aff is good are people with sub 1800 achievments.

Ok. Well I’m just glad I’m not the guy who said he would cast a filler spell instead of the covenant spell that buffs the filler spell, followed by said filler spell. Genius 1800+ Strat there homes.

I said it was fine not good…I’m sure a glad player could hit 2100 on either cov.

Why did you get on a alt to then speak from experience.

If I wanted to persuade someone to believe a specific way ide show a example of it working.

When I say AFF should NF its because I understand they have already handicapped themselves by being aff and they shouldn’t go one step further and NL ontop of it.

I try and help people… so should you.

I mean Glad is welfare garbage and 2100 follows the same thought process… I am positive I could welfare gladiator as any covenant but there will be far better paths then others and ide never lead a newer player down the wrong one.

Telling someone to play NL Aff is like … “Hey I know you already are losing the race a bit so why not hop on one foot anyway.”

We’re squabbling with each other and the real problem is Blizzards inability to effectively make other covenants/leggos more interesting.

You are not part of the community.

Dang. Did I miss a meeting or some fees? I thought I was a member of this community, but maybe not.

Hidden profile… on a 17 lock… Smells like No community to me.

Son of a….

Well, I’ll continue to lurk anyways.

Edit: here’s my super elite lock:

Good… just post on that one… No shame in showing who you are.

It’s not shame. It’s the fact that I started posting on this character and to switch means I lose track of replies and threads I’ve followed. I also lose threads and people I’ve ignored. For some reason these things are character bound rather than account bound.
