Affliction PvP Talent Shadowfall Bug

Good evening Warlocks!

The “Shadowfall” PvP Talent is currently bugged as an Affliction warlock. Please post in this thread on the Bug Forums if you too are experiencing the same:

Thanks!

Nightfall is a ppm effect. “100% increased chance to gain its effect” means double the ppm not 100% chance per tic. I haven’t tested it, is the effect not occuring at all, or just not as often as you expected?

Hm either way it’s not proccing the damage. No increased damage. No increased proc. It’s definitely bugged

Looks like its not increasing the damage of drain soul when you have that talented. It does proc though. Are you testing with warmode on?

I have been testing with WM on and off and unfortunately it’s been the same lack of results :frowning:

On the ptr it did not increase the damage of drain soul but increased the tick rate. I believe it was 7 ticks of damage with the proc and 5 ticks without it.
If testing check for that.

I tested it and havent got one proc from it yet.

the entire patch was a miserable failure yesterday. all kinds of bugs, and performance issues server side. the microsoft / blizz era is off to a terrible start. Be assured that today will be filled with numerous rolling restarts, hot fixes, and possibly server down time as they try to piece this mess back together.

You play a Warlock, talking about warlocks having issues. 100% doesn’t mean 100% in Blizzard’s eyes. I’ve done calculations on many different classes when Blizzard states “100%.”

There is some kind of “Blizzard only” calculation they use and aren’t providing to the public. I wish Blizzard would provide those calculations to us.

well the servers are down till noon Est time as predicted. Let see what they manage…

Still broken…

Yep, that’s whats happening. Pretty misleading tooltip and for a pvp talent its pretty weak if you only get the full benefit if you get the whole channel off.

I noticed i got two extra drain soul ticks yesterday. I didnt see any interaction with Shadowbolt though

Ok so the only issue I see with the increased tick rate vs actually buffing the damage of drain soul

Is that if you do not finish the full cast then the nightfall drain proc actually gave you no benift. As you would have gotten the same partial ticks out of a regular non talent proc drain soul.

With shadowbolt its instant cast with the (damage buff) and thus the cast interrupting is not an issue.

i got bunches of procs in epic bg yesterday., i had been using seed and single target corruptions. they were ticking all over the place (maybe 10 or 15 enemies had corruption) and the shadowbolt buff was proc’cing a lot

i’d still rather have my demon armor back. with the current situation stay waaay away from crowds and if a hunter targets you bend over kiss your ___ goodbye you goin down. having 436 armor total in pvp without the old 200% demon armor buff is like wearing tissue paper.

Yeah with that many targets you will have a ton of shadowfall/nightfall procs. Just wish they are worth the gcd to use though.
The damage is super lackluster.

I also 2nd the demon armor removal being terrible.

yeah suddenly soul rot is not worth it. gonna have to switch to necro

I tried out necro with decimating bolt and the shadowbolt spam from the procs were only good during the decimating bolt buff. And outside of that felt bad the same as nightfae.

So honestly im just not feeling playing this new talent at all.

The whole talent is just bizarre. From what I can surmise, the description of Shadowfall granting 100% of Nightfall’s effects basically means that it just gives us the talent without any interaction to Shadowbolt if Inevitable Demise is selected. They’ve translated the +50% damage aspect of Shadowfall into Drain Soul by giving it two extra ticks.

its 100% just meant to be a way to allow us to proc the 4 set tier bonus in PVP - cause prior to it there was no reason to cast shadowbolt at all.
but honestly it feels so bad to play that I just took other talents.
