I would be ok with them doing several things like this.
The addition of generating soul shards upon completion of one of these AOE alternatives would allow for less worry about Agony as a form of shard gen during large aoe packs (reaping) allowing us to keep corruption up.
AOE Talent Row -
Remove the current “Sow the Seeds” trait -
Replace - “Shadow Bolt Volley”- No shard cost : Mana Cost : X cast time.
Shadow bolt now also hits all enemies near your target for X% damage and generates 1 soul shard if hitting more than X amount of targets.
Remove “Phantom Singularity”
Replace it with “Harvest life” - No Shard Cost -Channel 6 sec - X Mana Cost:
Drains the life from all enemies within 15 yards of the target, causing Shadow damage X% increased per target hit by x% and healing received from Harvest life reduce by x% per target hit. harvest life generates 1 soul shards after successful full channel.
Keep - “Vile Taint” - Remove shard cost - 1.5sec cast - (“10 sec CD” reduced) - Unleashes a vile explosion at the target location, dealing (75% of Spell power) Shadow damage over 10 sec to all enemies within 15 yards and also extends agony by X seconds, length increased per target hit and deals instant damage equal to the remaining time of agony on up to X targets.
Something like what I’ve put above would be cool to have all of these would give some nice changes to the AOE rotation.
