Last night decided to give Demo a try in mythic since it received a buff. We were on Shriek and while damage is okay. Its still nowhere where it could be at. Im 221 iLvL at 27% haste and it still just fall so short. I love demo its my go to spec when i can play it. Aff on the other hand just smokes demo in almost every scenario. Did almost 1k more dps playing aff. I guess ill put demo up and just save for mythic plus runs
Your haste is overkill meaning that you need to allot stats towards crit and mastery.
There’s a certain marginal range that begins once you acquire 217-218+ ilvl that crit begins gaining a superior priority weight.
You are almost certainly got a stat issue.
If you don’t already I suggest siming your character at raidbots. At current gear levels haste isn’t the flat out winner. Our stat weights don’t work that way for the most part. Int is king to a degree that ilevel is almost always the upgrade and the secondary stat weights tend to be pretty close and pretty individual based on gear. Simming your own gear is better than relying on supposed stat weights.
Also yes Aff smokes demo in raid especially mythic tier
Figured haste would be king. Crits at 14% mastery at 32%. Pumping demons out quicker and having dots tick faster. The other lock I played against in raid my dots ticked a little over 20 times more then his. But ill do some simming tonight and see what different that could be better
Haste probably will be king during 9.3 andaybe 9.2, possibly 9.1 but wouldn’t hold my breath on that last one.
We simply don’t get enough sheer stats on the whole for haste to get into wacky territory like it can later in an expansion.
The caveat here is that while crit and haste and mastery(and to a lesser extent vers but that often becomes our rhsc stat quickly) give similar dps boosts now it is only haste that gives the spec better gameFEEL.
Demo feels much tighter with high haste and you can breathe more. So if crit gives you .98 and haste gives you .97 maybe just maybe consider haste anyway. Especially on things like gem slots and enchants.
And take everything I say with a grain of salt because I am not you, don’t know your gear, etc etc. Even I can be wrong often enough.
Isn’t there a new diminishing returns system on secondary stats this expansion too? That might change up how effective Haste stacking is at the end of the expansion. Traditionally Id say you’re absolutely right about high haste being an end of expansion thing but this expansion I’d say it’s more a wait and see situation. I’ve a suspicion that secondary stats may end up a bit more balanced this time around. Not perfectly balanced, haste will still probably pull ahead a bit, but maybe not by as much as usual
Yes actually. I had forgotten that since it has so little impact so far. I guess we will see what actually happens in 9.3
