I agree, but that’s the conclusion based on all the parts come together. Cutting out RDF, Faction and Race Changes, minimizing boosting but not RMT or GDKP, asking people about account-to-account transfers, and so on.
Each one has an “independent justification”, but taken as a whole, that’s the conclusion. Blizzard wants to unlock multiple boosts per account, and for us to buy them.
You do realize that paid boosts have been a thing for about a decade now? Itsa popular service thst Blizzard doesn’t need to promote.
The coming changes will help reduce RMT, as well as rhe amount of gold flowing through GDKPs.
You do realize that it’s currently capped at 1 per account in Classic right? They’re ramping up to removing that limitation in Wrath, based on asking about the account-to-account transfer because the one boost per account limit is what prevents account-to-account transfers.
They’re still not “pushing” the boost.
If people are gonna swipe their cards to level, Blizzard would be stupid to not be the one to take the payment.
They’re eliminating every other enjoyable or fast method of levelling, except for “Grind quests solo”. And at one point they considered keeping the quest helper out of the game which would have completed all of it.
Blizzard was dumb to remove RDF. No doubt about that.
Dungeon boosting, however, is an exploit. The only person who might be enjoying it is the mage that’s collecting your gold, only to sell it back to you.
I really have no sympathy for those who had fun by cheating.

To me leveling is just the means to get to max, which is where the game really starts. Nothing of any consequence happens during leveling and even if it did, I leveled 17 years ago and I’m over it.
Get players to max level as quickly as possible so they can play the endgame content that the game is built around.
so I’m cheating or exploiting because I use my mage that I leveled to boost my other characters? Who am I cheating?
Is my buddy who I asked to take me through Deadmines cheating or exploiting if no gold changed hands? Hard for me to see a good will gesture as an exploit or cheating. Those scenarios were always prominent and existed back in OG TBC.
If you read my “scattered posts” you would know that I find the Blizzard paid boost worse than mage boosting.
And because something bad has been in the game for its entirety doesn’t make it suddenly good.
Nor does something worse make it suddenly good either.
Boosting is just the result of poor game design that makes it more attractive to not play the game than to play it.

Boosting is the result (initially) of players wanting to help out their friends, guildies, or random players.

We’re not talking about someone helping a friend do a quest here.
You know exactly what is meant by boosting here, stop being so pedantic about the wording.

I’m not talking about helping with a quest either.
I’m talking about running someone (or people) through a dungeon for experience.
Stop being dense.
Also known as not playing the game while someone plays it for you.
No, not necessarily. Many ‘boostees’ that I’ve helped over the years (going on 17 now) have helped - healed or AoE’d.
Ever see Wowhobbs? We did it like he did in SM, for example.
Stop being ignorant of how the game was actually played back then.
That’s bad, but paying Blizz to simply skip 70 levels is fine?

Different people play differently, news at 11. Don’t force your style on others.
It’s cute you think this is about you.
Literally 4 posts above. This strawman is getting tiring.
You ignoring valid points is getting tiring.
I’m not ignoring them, I just find a level 70 killing gray mobs in a dungeon for a friend isn’t a valid argument in defense of boosting.
