Oh good the elderly gentlemen are back whining about addons, complaining they can’t do a bad quest in the barrens that is more easily skipped than anything else, and is now inferring that if you don’t hate questie’s auto complete and auto accept then you’re also fine with botting.
Just get questie and move on lmao.

The auto accept feature can be paused by just holding shift when they talk to the npc.
They probably know this
They probably just hate you
Deserved? Idk if we should poll the thread

Neither should someone else have to stop using an addon so that you can compete with them. The tool is out there; use it or find another way.
You’ve been sitting at one quest for 2 hours intead of moving on? A lvl 18 quest?
You know, something tells me there’s gonna be more than just a questie addon that stands between you and a good player

Agreed game automation should be banned. We all know it starts with auto clickers and evolves into Autopilot stuff like players using bots to play their rotations, targeting, etc.

sounds like you should get the addon.
Yep. Wow escort quests are the path to despair really.
Clear the path ahead of time, stuff shows up. Npc has wet paper bags look tacky as hell too.
The planned I am I tired mechanic. Love that one.
I have failed the true wow player tests too. Hogger? Yeah he lives. And his later on brothers and sisters lol.
Granted I get the benefit of lw/skinner on lead off. Killing extra mobs is not optional.
This post is so dumb. They don’t have any advantage and even if they did, news flash, you have the ability to download the same addon. 0 out of 10 for your clear attempt at a troll post.
You pathetic sweats cant even read the post properly before you try to jump down someones throat with the stupidest takes known to man.

Perhaps people are just tired of everyone trying to ban everything that doesn’t fit their exact play style, especially when it’s their own choices or simple impatience that is the issue. Also, as others mentioned it’s possible to complete as a group.
However if an area is too busy, you simply come back later, and he has that option. Heck I even skip quests sometimes because their are simply to many people trying to do them, and its simply not worth it. So no legitimate functionality and some add-on’s should not be eliminated because he wants to have a soapbox to stand on because he wants to skip core functionality Blizzard built into the game from the start.
A better suggestion is just to let everyone in the group accept the quest when one member does. Most quests are like that, not sure why Blizzard decided to be stupid with a few others.
It doesn’t matter how fast you are…let’s say you are in a group and every one of you finished the quest but have not turned it in yet. Typically, someone will say, “Don’t start the escort until we all turned in the quest!” Then one by one, the members will turn in the quest but not accept the next one. Here is the problem: The first person turns in the quest, then the next quest pops up and gets auto-accepted by the addon before anybody else has been able to turn in the previous quest.
If you had taken the time to use google you would know that you can do what the addon does yourself, with a macro. There is 0 advantage they have over you, just be better or skip the quest like 99% of people do with ignition
Never minding the fact that the OP stated this is an individual quest (ie, someone in their group couldn’t start it), the OP could just as easily go get the addon themselves if they wanted to. Which they don’t, because they are expressing that addons that do this are bad for the game.
“Second hand smoke is really troublesome and smoking is bad anyway, can we consider a ban on smoking?”
“Have you considered taking up smoking?”
OP could also use a macro to do the exact same thing as the addon, which entirely defeats their point
First, I think you may have used the dumbest analogy to ever grace these forums. One can lead to cancer and death. the other leads to whining about a non-problem.
Second, given the first point, you should probably go touch grass. Automatic quest acceptance has been available for 20 years in WoW. But it’s suddenly bad for the game…
The analogy is fine and the point stands. He’s saying we shouldn’t be able to do a thing and you’re telling him to just do the thing.
The OP is correct to point out that this isn’t good. It’s an issue when player counts exceed the available questing resources causing high contention. This has happened repeatedly and is only more prominent as Blizzard continues to funnel all players into mega server environments. As soon as some players start using these types of addons, everybody has to or they face the same problem the OP has. If you wanted to take your time on your journey and read the quest text, too bad, you can’t… unless you want to wait a few months for everybody else to stop playing or log in during the middle of the night to play.
When an addon does this, forcing everybody into a position of either using it or being excluded from playing the game, it needs to be addressed, in some form or another. That can be modifying the game so that this isn’t a problem anymore or it can be disabling the API that enables these addons to exist. Just telling people to go and get the addon only exacerbates the problem and does not alleviate it.
Perhaps you should take your own advice and go outside for a bit. Take a break from pointlessly trolling others on the forums.
I mean, I kind of agree. I was in a group for the Wrynn ring yesterday, and man, Questie screwed over my group like 3 times. Twice from other groups and once because I accepted the quest before anyone else could do anything. I think the issue is less about auto turn-in and accept, and more about bad quest design from Blizz. But these quests are 20 years old, so kinda hard to complain.
I’m in favor of this, that just sounds ridiculous. Its one thing when someone in the group doesnt wait until everyone is ready, its another to have it be automatic.
There’s no good reason to have an addon that does this. Even though many addons water down the game, none of them are supposed to give a direct advantage over other players, nor are they supposed to negatively affect other players, at least according to Blizzard.
It surprises me that despite that the slower paced mechanics of classic being one of the main reasons people come back to it, many still download all these addons to water the game down like retail.
But to each there own I guess. This auto accept thing is kinda ridiculous. Once an addon is allowed, its hard to get people to want to ban it. Its like if they allowed a focus target addon for classic.
