Less-Rabi remains my favourite achievement. Got cursed at by guild mates when that announcement went out in guild chat. Made me giggle.
TRUE wotlk was the downfall of the game.
Being a completionist myself, I get where you are coming from. Achievements is one of the things added to retail that I love too. One of my favorite things to do there when I do play, is work on achievements. I even have a mod for achievements that’s ironically called Completionist if I remember right. I love the mod and achievement system. I’m not into end game these says so it’s just something fun for me to do.
With that said. I wouldn’t want to see them added to Classic. I enjoy Classic for what it is. The barebones version of WoW before all those things were added. I’m having a blast playing this version and am actually impressed with how far Blizzard went to truly make this as authentic as they could get it.
The cool thing is with my one sub I can play Classic or retail, which I do. I primarily play Classic but do play retail on occasion. Both versions offer a different experience and should stay that way in my opinion. Neither should be changed to be more like the other.
Different people I’m pretty sure.
There are some though that wanted Classic in the hopes they could convince Blizzard to give them something different since they aren’t happy with retail.
Those who truly wanted and asked for Classic for all these years, wanted the game as it was, nothing more.
There are achievements in the game right now. Getting to R14 would be an achievement. Getting full T3 would be an achievement.
The difference is these are achievements in the true sense of the word, not just a digital backpat for players that are too daft to make their own goals.
That’s not ironic.
I don’t think you do.
The only relevant achievement worth noting already exists in the honors tab.
Simply put no. The only achievements that ever mattered was the 150k hks and 250k hks.
Check twitch. There’s addons for you. If not. Well. We get them when we get wrath. Be patient weedhopper.
I hated it when it came out. I already felt a lot of accomplishment for things I’d done, collections of items I had. Having things codified took it away from being mine and satisfying to being a driving force behind what other people wanted to do. One of the earliest effects was the “Can we do this boss that way to get the achievement?” A later effect was “You’re bored with the game? You haven’t done all the achievements.”
To be fair, I hate achievements in most games. Steam games often have a whole slew of achievements, and I’d turn them all off if I could. I don’t need a popup to tell me I’ve achieved a level or earned a character or found an alternative ending.
No. Others have asked for achievements too.
I will continue to hope Blizzard never considers it, preferring that they offer them in Wrath Classic (and Retail) where they belong.
I agree, Achievements would be cool. It does not change anything for the classic experience.
What makes classic to be classic ? Mostly the content right ? The mechanics are a secondary issue related to that, and it wont change mechanic.
