How long do you think it takes to make a mount?
Why resort to childish retorts ? As for my opinion I formed it myself like many others Iâm older and able to think for myself
I bought it for my wife. It looks really good. Iâm not a fan of the wingsâ coloring since they donât seem to match the rest of the mount, but overall one of the better mount designs.
thatâs why the servers are dead.
They added mounts when the game was good (Wrath.) But yeah letâs whine about the two store mounts when 8.1 gave us 20 or so mounts that can be earned in game.
No they added another one yesterday. right on the heels of lying about artifact knowledge. donât you have phones?
To be fair they added around 20/30 in 8.1 alone. Having 1 store mount is okay considering how generous they were with mounts this patch.
Is it a âslap in the faceâ??? Please?? Thatâs my favorite!
Yeah, I know. The two store mounts I was talking about was the fox and Meat Wagon.
However, I still donât understand why people keep whining about store bought mounts. Theyâve been adding them to the game since Wrath. If theyâre so freaking bad, and if theyâre the âsign of the times,â then why didnât the game fail 10 years ago?
Plus, the 20 or so mounts they added with 8.1 that can be earned in game look better than that goofy fox.
Rofl, there hasnât been a store mount released in a year or two. Add to that, the fact that the art team is not also in charge of gameplay and systems, and it makes this post look pretty stupid.
No, Blizzard should ignore the people who enjoy the game. /s
Unfortunately some people can only look at something and decide if they dont find it enjoyable, nobody does. Its a classic narcissistic/sociopathic mindset. Nothing matters but ME!
I donât have a problem with it honestly. Itâs a nice looking mount and with the sub loss theyâve had since BfA launched they need to try to make some money from somewhere LOL.
Isnât this the same topic that comes up every single time a mount is added and people get all bent out of shape, not even taking into account that the team that works on these mounts is not the same team that does development for the expansion.
Same stuff, different shop mount. Blah blah blah blah blah.
same argument still just as strong.
Your argument is beyond flimsy and is extremely illogical.
Reskinned skeleton from an art team =/= BfA development team for gameplay
You are either painfully stupid or willfully ignorant. It has nothing to do with âtaking away development timeâ, itâs the gall of blizzard to sell a beautiful, original mount that couldâve been added into the game to give people something to do during an otherwise very boring period of time. Itâs about the audacity for Blizzard to try to sell people something to the average player where they have already paid 125 dollars hoping this unfinished mess of an expansion will finally be worth playing.
You might not share this opinion, but to deny the hundreds of thousands of people who feel this way is beyond ignorant and deluded.
Yeah, no, I donât see a problem with them adding a cosmetic mount to the cash shop during the Holidays, since thatâs what theyâve done for many years.
Adding the floating pirate ship and making it available for only people who pre-purchased 6 months of subscription time, on the other hand, was a pretty transparent effort to inflate subscriber numbers.
Even the most dire (and refuted) depictions of WoWâs sub numbers are greater than 500K, all the palpable negativity diffusing from you aside. You must be thrilling at parties.
HoTS is dropping its esports bits, and has shuttled off development staff to other projects. Itâs not âshutting down,â itâs entering a mode where itâs feasible to keep it running for the forseeable future, albeit with less content updates. Maybe itâll shut down eventually, sure, but thatâs not in the immediate future; itâs just not going to be a focus.
Diablo has a tie-in mobile game that was presented in a tone-deaf manner at a bad time. The IP isnât dead; Diablo 3 came out a literal dozen years after Diablo 2 first launched, and that means that to follow the same development cycle we could be waiting until 2024 to see Diablo 4. I doubt itâll be that long, but putting the IP on a mobile title in the meantime isnât really anything bad. Iâd probably play it, I like mobile action titles. But again, nothing positive seems to escape that emotional black hole in the center of your being.
Donât know anything about Starcraft, havenât seen it pop up anywhere but they did mention theyâre developing titles for all IPs, so that would theoretically include Starcraft. And I think Warcraft Reforged or Remastered or whatever looks great; if itâs not your preference, you donât have to buy or play it. It literally has no effect on you at all, itâs simply a game that exists.
As for your last points; a lot of people want the mount. It looks awesome, and although it could be tangentially related to the Vulpera, it doesnât really have a place where it would fit from an in-game source. I really donât mind them putting in these one-off store mounts when they come up with something cool that doesnât fit the aesthetic of the current content (like a sparkly horse made of stars in the middle of an expansion detailing a war against the undead in a frozen wasteland, for instance); again, itâs something that exists for the people that like or want it, but it has no effect on you, a consumer who does not want it and will not purchase it. I got it for my wife, she loves it.
They did a cross-promotion with Diablo 3 during Cata where you could buy a year of game time (broken up into chunks if you wanted) and you got both D3 and a WoW mount out of the deal; itâs not like they havenât had bonus incentives like mounts, specifically, for purchases of services before.
Hell, thatâs the whole reason I got a Virtual Ticket to last yearâs Blizzcon. I tuned into some things, but not all of it; I mostly just wanted the sweet blimp mount. Totally worth it. Iâm going to get the Meat Wagon mount, too, because I also happen to really want Warcraft 3 Reforged anyway and the bonus mount is, well, a nice bonus. Why would it be bad if I happen to get a fancy ship mount if I also get a six-month block of time instead of the one-month block I usually get? I was going to be subscribed anyway, free things are good.
The timing could be only slightly suspect, in that they might have projected a lull between content patches. So theyâd have planned (long in advance, by the way, as parts of the whole information about it were datamined months prior before BfA even launched) to have an incentive for people to stay subscribed, and even gave it to the people who had six-month subs active anyway. So sure, they might have wanted to shore up sub numbers at a time when people might have dropped for a bit, but thatâs just intelligently incentivizing a subscription-based model in general, not some last-ditch reactive measure to hold onto subscriber counts for dear life amidst a lot of complaints.
Letâs just face reality OP, you were going to complain about the shop mount whether Bfa is doing well or not because youâre just looking for things to complain about.
