For example as a boomkin I’d love the Astral Form, which has no affect on balancing and performance. I’m sure other classes have cool things they could get as well.
Astounds me on the amount of effort people put into comments like this.
More to the point … this (adding “fun” glyphs) is exactly what they did in retail and it ended up destroying inscription (and glyphs as a whole) in the process.
you mean the exact same way it’s “killed” off in wrath? you use it to make the glyph at launch and make money that way, then sell DMF cards throughout the rest of the expansion.
As we progress further into retail, Blizz began adding primarily cosmetic crap over altering abilities and providing positives/negatives leaning more into “fun” changes rather than unique.
So no, I don’t mean what you’re saying because they still serve a purpose in this expansion.
And they still would? Where in my post do any of you read that I want the major glyphs deleted or something? I just want to not stare at moonkin form all day lmao.
You guys blow everything so much out of proportion its crazy.
How would adding another Minor glyph to sell on top of all the others kill Inscription? If anything they make more money lmao
I’d have that more as the game wore on 2 things happened.
Newer devs seem to want to erode the work of the older ones. Don’t fix what ain’t broken? Hell no, go the devs. Let me show show what I can do kind of stuff there.
and inscription got gutted to make way for world of system craft. Now with mythic dungeon or death to mix in with raid or death.
Retail can’t have power gains in the open world. They need to sell their new system(s) of the expac. and the sweats actually like this. All good things must be in raid!
Which is what wrath glyphs were. pick some flowers, make some power gains as a scribe/buyer of their wares.
in the state retail is in for inscription I’d actually have cosmetics the only reason its still around.
Darkmoons are only useful, imo, the first month of the expac. they are real quick ilevel fixers. And that is about it. When trinket rng is bad…you fork over the gold.
rep boost contracts (iirc they called them this)? yeah, not a concern months in either. or not at all. You WILL run dailies till you puke, what is a few more.
its cosmetics imo that have this around and needed. by x.1 patch levels.
For OP’s I’d have this add a slot or 2 for cosmetics only. Keep the power boosters…slap in the pretty glyph if desired.
Maybe you missed the point I was making in how Blizzard went down this road already and ended up screwing up inscription and glyphs as a whole? IE: It was tried and sabotaged an entire trade skill in the process.
Wrath’s Glyphs all had tangible benefits (ie do more damage). It wasn’t until later they changed it so glyphs were more for convenience or cosmetic.
Like, which would you give up, as a boomkin: Glyph of Typhoon, Glyph of Unburdened Rebirth, Glyph of Dash or Glyph of the Wild?
…one reduces “loloops” pulls (Typhoon), one frees up bag space (Unburdened Rebirth), one increase the uptime of Dash via CD reduction (Dash), and one reduces the mana consumption of rebuffing (Wild).
If I was Boomy, I’d be running Typhoon, Rebirth, and Dash.
Well glyphs were a dumb idea to begin with. They were just looking for more stuff to add to the game. Whoever thought that adding more enchants, and calling them another name, was a giid idea is to blame.
So in later expansions the focus was to remove everthing. No need for glyphs, no need for enchants.
The entire history has been to remove. Look at the use of potiins and elixers in vanilla. You could stack resist potions, health buffs, armor. Then in tbc they made it only one and the time was cut.
Blizz r3moves the fun. Some may say there was to much ans ppl had to grind all day to afford. They went to the extreme though and u dont have to buy almost anything in retail. It is why it is sooooo boring now.
