Add Modern Day Models in WotLK

At least admit the flowers are a cute addition lol.

if u want retail features, go play retail.

Not necessarily. This character was modelled on my original TBC Blood Elf Warlock. When I logged into that character a few years ago after being unsubbed since TBC, I wondered why I had ever picked the face I had. When Classic came out and I saw the original version, I remembered why. The faces look totally different, and I like the Classic one a hundred percent better. Not everything translated well into the new models.

While I know that some people, particularly anyone playing Humans and Gnomes (particularly female) really hated the new models because the faces just
weren’t even close to the same.

That being said, I’m all in favor of Retail models, especially since that means we can get Retail Barbershop options.

This has been requested since the start. Why they couldn’t let us toggle graphics is beyond me. Whichever one you use literally affects no one else. Just lazy developers doing bare minimum then wondering why these struggle to keep subs long term.

“Because you will play TBC like we did back in the day son: uphill both ways!”
-Graphics do not change how the game is played.

“Because its classic, not retail.”

Moron huh, mine craft and roblox are pretty modern, tetris has been played by more people in a month than WoW in all its incarnations lifetimes. Graphics can be too good and not mesh with the style and feel of the game and make a very pretty boring experience, I’m sorry but retail is too polished and shiny bordering on sensory overload, I need gritty and unrefined to give it the authentic vintage feel, and if you change the art, than you’ve made a monumental change that would absolutely 100 percent alter the game and make it unrecognizable visually from any form of the classic trilogy. Nope sorry but only an idiot would say it would have zero impact on gameplay. Talk about oxymoronic, arguing for something to improve your personal gaming experience and saying it would have zero effect on the game experience. Lol such hypocrisy.

Because you will play TBC like we did back in the day son: uphill both ways!

Never was that happy with the new models, especially the NE’s. In fact it took me a while to get to the point I could play NE’s and human females because the amount of bounce they added to it would make my stomach turn.

Having the old models back was one of the big things I was happy about.

I do not disagree; its the WoD era & player models (some not all) that some
people detest.

I prefer the janky old UD male vanilla - MoP model over the WoD+ version.

The original male UD look slightly better when zoomed out at play distance (to me), and I prefer the animations of the original model, they are just so “undead”.

The new stuff isn’t bad, well some of the player models are kinda bad, but I think the worst part are some of the faces are a bit too cartoony, and i strongly dislike the animations.

I feel like it wouldnt cost all that much to simply “hi-res” the original models; i have seen it done for machinima and it looked amazing without making any actual “changes” to the original models. Technically it would be a change, but not in the same jarring way it was done in WoD with what many refer to as Disney.

anyway just my 2 copper

Because its classic, not retail.

Really?

We’re gonna have to agree to disagree. I think the thing is, there’s so many customization options on the Modern models now, that you can make some of them look “Disney” and maybe that’s an issue to a lot of people. However, I can make every single race look the way I want, far more so than I can in Classic. I can make them look far more realistic; stern-faced, battle-hardened.

You can make the modern Undead Males look like they belong in a survival-horror game:

That really doesn’t scream “Disney” to me.

Rofl thats an unpopular opinion

undead is kinda the outlier, this is why i was saying i like the original model better when zoomed out at play distances. Mostly its the original animations look better to me for male undead.

I play zoomed way out, so the up close visuals are less valuable to me, its how they look when at play distance that’s where i live.

Yeah, that’s fair enough.

Also fair.

Out of all the possible changes blizzard could make to Classic, adding in the retail models and animations is probably the worst. If there were two screens in front of me, one being classic and one being retail, I want to be able to pick them out in a split second.
If they look the same, then it’s the same. I’ll go back to the naughty servers

I would rather Blizz focused more on getting rid of the botting/gold selling problems turning people away from classic than worrying about updated models. The graphics are already updated anyways from the engine and newer graphics cards. If Blizz doesn’t focus on the rampant RMT in the game then WotLK will die off quickly and all that will be left are raid logging whales running GDKPs on their 8th account, gold sellers, and bots.

I’d quit on the spot. The garbage Disney models and animations from retail are the one thing I can’t get used to, and has stopped me from giving the game a chance because I just can’t ignore how dumb they look.
