Add Evoker Tier Sets to the Barbershop!

It would be nice if they could get those working too, but my biggest concern is how difficult it is to coordinate colours, and how limited the armour selections are.

Who knows, maybe we’ll see them get it all working someday.

Sadly, I called this situation out back before the expansion even launched. It’s pretty obviously that this is, and will forever be, a huge issue with the Dracthyr.

Blizzard needs to actually take the time to give us full transmog for the Dracthyr, or give us proper Dragon forms, similar to Druids’ shapeshifting form.

Nobody asked for naked lizard-people, and nobody wants naked lizard-people.

Yeah, dracthyr not being able to use armor appearances 99% of the time seems like a huge oversight from Blizzard. That being said, the fact that they can only use two slots bothers me as well. What if I want to design a cool transmog for my visage form but the belt and shoulders are clashing with the armor my lizard-woman form has? Why they didn’t give the option to change the outfits of the forms separately is beyond me and will always prevent me from playing one even more than armor not fitting our goofy “dragons”.

Tier sets for dragons in the barbershop? Makes sense to me.

That you did, and I was there every time to admonish you with Ion’s vague allusion to being able to “do more” with tier sets.

Quite foolish of me, in retrospect.

They even knew they were making giant lizard people. When my dracthyr first got to orgrimmar an npc says “are you sure you’re a dragon or just a big lizard??”

the problem is rigging. usually you make armor model, then everyone gets it sized to their models rig points. im thinking due to the dracthyrs wings the rigging is all over the place. so putting on armor will be incredibly jank.

The fact that your raid sets, the sets specifically designed for your class, that can only be played by dracthyr, dracthyr can’t even wear 95% of the gear… jesus.

See now why is blizz lacking in creativity so bad.

Rare sympathy from a Druid, but I’ll take it.

The shame is, the Evoker actually plays great. Particularly the new Augmentation spec, really dig the mobility (admittedly, I’m definitely not playing him top-end, as I didn’t take Prescience, which is clearly mandatory this patch).

I’d still prefer they actually have full mobility (like Hunters get), but still, they’re pretty fun.

But that’s tempered by the “Dracthyr”, which I just… really don’t have a lot of positive thoughts about. Their origins were a mess, wholly unnecessary, and I would rather either be a full-blown dragon, or just embrace the Visage full-time. “Dracthyr” are the worst of both worlds; they’re not as cool as real dragons, and far more limited than any other race.

Blizzard really needs to change their entire design ethos for the Evoker. Either embrace the Dragon aspect (heh), give them full-blown transmog, or just make their Visage the primary form.

It does. The support playstyle is my jam in MMOs, and that niche has been completely unfilled in the modern MMO stance until now. That being said, I put in some time on my Shaman, getting armour, unlocking appearances… that is my endgame.

I don’t get that thrill on my Evoker.

Why should I?

Agreed, it screws up the entire progression system of the game. Even at the very first Blizzcon, the big reveal for players was the Tier 2 armor getting revamped. The armor technically already existed before, but nobody was that excited about it, because it just looked like anything else. People want to look awesome, and get that satisfaction of acquiring new stuff.

That honestly kills a lot of the fun of playing an Evoker.

Holyyyy I want that so bad now, please make it happen Blizzard!

And it’s utterly perplexing, given that as we learned in an interview, this limitation was a philosophical choice rather than a technical one.

Dracthyr customization was second-to-none. At launch. They are utterly bereft of customization post-launch. And the fatigue is painful. I took a long break before 10.2 - a break that would have previously been filled with transmog farming old raids. But what’s the point?

I just keep coming back to, if they wanted to focus on them being “dragons”, well, why did they bother making them humanoid? I think people would’ve actually been super hyped if they’d be dragons.

They obviously made them humanoid so they could slap armor on them. But did they honestly think the couple of options at the barber-shop was going to compete with nearly 20 years of armor options?

And as you said, Evokers are also robbed because they don’t get new armor to look forward to. It’s an embarassment they can’t even wear their own Tier sets – even Shamans and Hunters can wear Evoker armor, thanks to lookalike gear!

Hah, yeah… as I mentioned, I was playing on my Shaman. Part of the fun was that I was actually able to use the armour on a character I enjoy! I don’t count the Visage as a consolation prize at all - I am not a fan of the Blood Elf model, to say the least. I play a dragon to play as a dragon.

I was hoping for cloaks that looked like iridikrons(sp?), so when we are in visage form we have our “wings” wrapped around us as a cloak and it wouldn’t clip with our drach wings because we can’t use cloaks in that form.

I mean, that would be absolutely fantastic. Going full Gargoyles. But that would also be a huge undertaking. I’d be content with a more reasonable expansion of options utilizing existing assets.

not even. at home there is no chest or legs or arms or head option.

at home its a belt and shoulders

/at the very least add the NEW Dracthyr armor slots as barbershop options.
(things added since Dragonflight.)
