I only started posting on this character because it makes sense to post on your main. Gives a bit of weight to your arguments when people can see that you’ve done the things you claim to have done.
Eventually I just came to be known as this character. I don’t really care if you think I am male or female. If you want to say she because the avatar is female, cool. If you want to say he because you assume I’m male, cool. If you actually know my IRL gender you can call me that if you want. I don’t exactly make it a secret or try and hide that I’m male IRL.
Please don’t take it personally. I suspect I’m like most people, in that I just assume another player is a male unless I know otherwise. If you gently correct the person, (e.g. “actaully, I’m a girl/woman/female/chick”) most people will take it in stride.
BTW, you may not have thought of this, but there are some female players who don’t want it known that they are female, out of concern about unwanted attention.
I feel for you I really do. People think I am a tauren and I get called that all the time. Every time I do a quest or hand something in. Its super tedious man.
Back in TBC my AH/Bank toon was a female nelf until I got asked if I wanted to go to the inn. What ensued pretty much put me off rolling any more female toons for quite some time.
