Actual female player, constantly being called a boy?

aha! but what came before existence?
You are correct though, life is not fair and people do bad things. That is why we don’t invite the general public to private dinner affairs

Honestly, only 15%ish of all WoW accounts are ran by women.
Women are a super small minority, so unless you can prove you are a female in a voice chat or somesuch, everybody just assumes you are male because it is the most likely scenario.

Its like going to a food joint, and 85% of the food comes out raw, instead of cooked, and then expecting yours to be cooked instead of raw. The statistics are not in your favour.

There are barely any Girls in WoW, and what I mean by that is they are Women. After all the years meeting many many Females on here, I can tell you that 90% of them were between 40 and even up to 70 - So the next time any of you guys try to push a relationship with a Female player, just know she’s prob got a good 10-20 years on ya  and not some hot 18-24 yr old

edit: And also this is not a problem. I treat everyone with care and respect no matter the age. If I meet a female and make a good relationship with her, I could careless if she’s in her 50s. Would still treat them the same

Oh puh-leaze, everyone knows that girls don’t play WoW.

G.I.R.L.s do though.

Honestly, I don’t care about it. If people assume I’m a dude, then that’s fine - preferable, even. Gender doesn’t kill bosses, so why does it matter (to me)? I feel that’s the mentality of a lot of people (though there are a few unpleasant outliers from time to time) and there really isn’t any harm done by people assuming.

I call everyone “dude” or “man” really bad habit my dad used to get SUPER pissed off at me for calling him “man” on accident.

I can’t think of a single time in this game when I found it relevant to reveal to anyone, ever, what was between my legs. Not once, in 13 years.

Imagine being offended that random people who have no idea who you are get your real life gender wrong.

Yikes.

True. I’m 43. I have gray hair. I’m so incredibly married. All my girlfriends who play this game are in my age group. None of us give a shiny rodent’s backside if you know we’re girls or not. We call call people a combination of dude, man, guys, honey, sweetie, and hoss.

So. I just don’t get the deal with all this. I’m shocked the thread is still going.

There are girls playing wow (my daughter is 15, and she plays a lot - mythics and BGs), and there are women playing wow, and they come from all kinds of demographics.

We get that there are a ton of men running around with female toons. Typically, it’s the half-naked ones, but even some of the skimp mog toons are actual girls. You just never know.

And most of us truly don’t care. I don’t. If you assume I’m a guy in his mom’s basement, it doesn’t change the color of my pixel cookies, and the only time I tell anyone I’m a girl is if we’re actually chatting in the group and getting social…and I’m repeatedly being called a “he.” It just feels dishonest not to tell them who they’re talking to at that point.

Otherwise…holy mercy, this is a moot issue. It just doesn’t matter.

I used to chuckle at trade chat “mom” jokes or insults because there are a lot of moms and grand moms and aunts and so on playing this game but those guys were clueless about that.

Is this really a hot topic?

I think some women just get tired of the assumptions when they come thick and fast. 90% of the time I don’t even think about this stuff either, but once in awhile, when I’ve been called male pronouns a LOT in a short amount of time and am continuing to talk with this person, I correct them. Nicely.

Ditto.

Yes and hello!! Miss BG’ing with ya, just been really busy lately and have not been playing at all :frowning: Sooner or later i’ll start popping up in your group on the nightly!

I dont really have that issue I think mannerism and the way you talk/type can be a big give away to people assuming your gender when you play with them, and if someone does calls me dude I honestly don’t care unless its someone I tend to speak more often.

I’m sure my friend in this thread will know who I am talking about, but if any of you remember “Hydra” the infamous AV/Ashran premaders, One of their high-end Leaders was a woman in her mid-70s

Players initially think I’m female due to my name alone and then also seeing my character is female but I’m a guy irl. I can see why but I just really like collecting Pokemon names lol.

How many did you collect so far?

AUUUHHH Ishnu alah Ilthalane! Things are getting better AUUUHHH
