Actual female player, constantly being called a boy?

can we stop using food as analogy? please and thank you!
belly rumbles
sigh… too late.

Same gender as their toon unless they care enough to correct me. In which case, I’ll try to remember that when referring to them in the future.

If I’m feeling shirty, I’ll greet the inevitable “GG Bois” at the end of a battleground with “Nicely done, ladies and gents.”

In a game that has Asian servers.

I agree. However, this oddity to prove Male Domination over sounds odd to me. The post lack any understanding that, even with the given data they gave is shows a huge rise of female gamers.

Yet you have continuously tried to prove that Male Domination is what? Important? It really isn’t considering the female numbers continue to rise while the male static is steadily dwindling. A gap of 10% is nothing in a male “dominated” aspect.

And that’s my point. That 10% is nothing compared to 10 years ago.

This is the reason why I don’t see this a “huge” or “important” number. If projections keep to the rise of female gamers, that number will almost complete the gap by 2020 or 2021.

I thought we were talking about all PC gamers, not WoW. Wow is just part of the 2.2 billion, right?

Ahh now i understand the intent of your post.

I already said i was not speaking from a place of men > women and i do not care peoples gender. I responded to a question,i was asked for a source,i gave said source, the data is significant, you are speaking as if i am trying to “hold onto the majority” as if women taking over that majority would bother me,to which i could not care less either way, what i do care about are statistics and facts,Which is all i have laid out here. I even gave you stats in percentages from the last however many years that showed women rising in that demographic. your point is something i already said,my point is statistics are significant especially with such a large disparity,i am not claiming i want the disparity to exist,or that i think it should, etc this seems like a response from feminism 101 as if i was attempting to have ill wil or malicious intent with displaying those statistics.

I thought we were too. If we’re talking only one game and restricting this conversation only NA servers… Then why pull global numbers over Male to female ratio?

It’s almost as if you did not read the previous posts…which directly lend to that context.

Im sure some probably said this before but I didn’t read the whole thread, bad me!

I would think it happens to save yourself embrassment. For example, I walk up to a fine looking Night Elf lady and apply my smooth moves. I say, ‘Hey there hottie. Were you always this hot looking, or were you caught in a fire recently?’

Now obviously most women would be all like, swoon! But males would be like, hey dumbo I’m male. Now I’m embrassed and have to slink off. And I might miss out on other fine ladies.

If on the other hand I approach with, ‘Hey bro nice mog.’ And you activate my trap card by saying, ‘I’m not a bro, I am a cool sexay female gamer looking for an short fat balding male partner.’ then I know I am free to apply my charms! And you will have no defense! Embrassment averted!

Should I feel offended people think I’m a girl, when I’m not? This seems like a non issue. Maybe you could just take the pronouns with a grain of salt.

For a multitude of reasons, many male players play female characters. Were I a betting man, I’d wager that they outnumber the actual ladies playing the game.

Don’t overthink it, that’s pretty much it.

Ok nine. Do me a favor. Get a pie. Measure it out and slice it in two so that one side is 55 percent and the other is 45. Then cut a 10 percent slice out of the 55 and explain how it compares to the other two pieces.

Generally speaking poster when i meet people online its probable that the person behind the screen is male. Because generally speaking most gamers are male.

Of course i dont care about the sex, private life, religion, ethnicity, sexual preference, etc of a stranger on the internet. None of this information is any of my business. I care only that we can play the game well enough and get along.

On average it is human nature to create fictional characters that are idealistic in thier design. So most players are likely to make female toons regardless.

It seems to me you are over concerned about none essential information that is none of your business to begin with.

Also i often refer to people (especially in groups) as dudes, guys, you all, etc.

These terms can often be used to address groups without being specific to gender.

We are on the internet you are fully capable of ignoring someone if you want.

I found it funny i have always just played the game and acted like i would in teal life. Regardless of having mostly female toons i am a 30 year old straight guy. If someone asks my gender i just tell them.

But i always laughed when they thought i was a chick. Often the reason was i am too nice to be a guy.

So what women are automatically saints and straight men can’t be nice is the logical conclusion. Is that not sexist in and of itself?

Prople make no sense. I am surrounded by fools it seems.

I am a female as well people always assume i am some fat guy til i get on discord and talk then they are like uhhhh nevermind and leaves me alone. There have been times i’d pretend to be a guy cuz when guys find out im a woman and i play wow they get mad cuz they think i fit the stereotype of the “Lol im a girl playing give me gold.” Nope not me i grind and have alts that make the gold for me.

Then i just have 10% less pie…

Do me a favor,Take your average lifespan for whatever country you live in,Take 10% off of it,tell me if it is significant.

Take your average miles per gallon in your car, take 10% off of it,tell me if it is significant.

Take your mortgage,Take 10% interest off of it,tell me if it is significant.

I can play the same game.

It is my story and I’m gonna tell it like I want it!

sure! but again, this falls into the need for males in general to understand that women aren’t just people who /swoon because of a few flirtatious or nice words.
a general misconception i felt needed to be pointed out.

sig·nif·i·cant

/siɡˈnifikənt/

adjective

sufficiently great or important to be worthy of attention; noteworthy.

220m or 300k both are significant

lets look at how we phrase the english language and what tools we use within that langauge, like… science/measuring

A significant result in a scientific study is a result large enough to matter.

who determines if its worthy of attention? this is perspective based on the idea the person/persons is intrested.
