I’m pretty sure you would kill off all the casual’s and a good chunk of the dungeon / raid loggers for cheaper games.
If for example wow has 2 million subscribers (I know could be more or less), to keep bringing in the same income per month from subscription if they dropped to less than 300k subscribers after this price point increase, they would be losing money at that point.
