Activision blizzard games coming to gamepass

I honest to god hope not.

If the future is gonna be cloud gaming for all games, imma be sailing the seven seas full time.

I tried Diablo 4. It’s okay, but it does need more content.

wiggles toes

Ok, so is this like when I tried playing Elder Scrolls Online with my X-box, I had to have the Game Pass and a ESO subscription? If that is not how it works, I’ll stick with current format and if they change it bye-bye WoW.

Darbo 4 was a mistake. They should have just made an expansion for D2 or D3, or just made a less P2W version of Diablo Immortal. Diablo Immortal understood that a live service Diablo game should have clan systems and chat channels. The only reason people on Blizz forums don’t praise it as the true D4 is because of cash gem upgrades.

Otherwise DI is the most foundationally solid MMO to be released in the 2020s. It plays like Black Desert X Albion Online, it’s actually trying to do something and play like something. D4 plays like, 'member leveling up to 70 in D3? Let’s do that every quarter, but with less content, less storage, no matchmaking, and no chat!

D4 was never planned. It was rushed into production after the “unexpected” reaction to Immortal. I say “unexpected” because it was totally unexpected to Blizzard, but anyone with an ounce of common sense could’ve seen it coming 100 miles away.

Everything about D4 was a rush job. And it was designed around pay to win first, game second.

None of the games on gamepass that I am aware of require gamepass to play. They are all games that you can play on other platforms, seperately. I play several games that I either own through Steam or downloaded on their own that have ended up on gamepass and I can use either method to play them.

It seems silly to keep a WOW sub, if you can use the game pass instead. That being said, I still believe that WOW will go F2P soon and that the game pass version would just be WOW with the current expansion, while F2P WOW is only up until the previous one.

Selling expansions to MMO´s is so yesterday in my opinion.

Yes. So far. Someone actually suggested that they tie it to Gamepass and make it the only option, which is why I reacted the way I did. I personally don’t think they will do that.

Tbh i really hope wow comes to game pass, it would be awesome to pay for wow and have access to other games too, also everyone here who says but they would lose 15$, ye that is true, but having wow on pass will do 2 things, it will allow wow players access to other games in pass and it will allow them to boost already eroding wow playerbase by giving pass users who don’t play wow a chance to play it, now ur overlooking 1 big piece here, there is a good chance for both sides (people who try other games besides wow, and other battle pass users who try wow) they will start buying cosmetics in games, i think that’s where revenue evens out.

wow is not heading to game pass due to the 2-3 subs players will need to pay

There are no sub based games on PC gamepass, including other MMOs like ESO, also owned by Microsoft, and the ones that are on or going to console, you have to pay double for, including FF14.

Edit: Also, just a note, if Microsoft ever does reverse course on it’s paying double thing, something that has been around since the Xbox Live days, you can probably thank Square for it considering they are supposedly still talking with Microsoft over the double sub thing. You know, considering you only have to pay for a sub on Playstation.

we play the same game? it already is.

It won’t be.

customers loved D4 when it came out, then Blizz fixed for the next season and everyone quit, like SoD right now…

most likely will still require a wow sub to play. also what sabbia said.

wow has its store, where from time to time it puts up a mount, pet, cosmetic, and services that many mmorpgs have such as changing server, name, etc.

If we compare the free to play Overwatch 2, within the game the unlockable content is almost non-existent (and for the most part horrible), without going through a battle pass, or the store.

It would hurt me to see a wow where I have to unlock new missions in the store, like what happened in Starcraft with Nova, or instead of rewarding us with collectibles after completing missions, achievements, defeating enemies, whether they come in a battle pass or we have to directly buy them 10-15-20 dollars.

Every now and then you see something like that in the store and you let it go, but from then on until 95% of the game’s content is paid, like in OW2, I completely stop being interested in the game.

I hope it is somewhat less aggressive if it is incorporated into the gamepass, perhaps with that you will not have to buy the expansion for example. If you stop paying, any character over 61 will be blocked.

I think the sub is one of the things that leaves the company the most, I feel that by removing it they would have to introduce some form of more aggressive monetization in some other way.

Micro transactions disagree

We have those already, tho.

That love was uh… not universal
