your guarantee is wrong. I have used them on a handful of toons to get a quick ilvl jump to do pvp. Don’t like pve much, so endless mythics n raids just so i can eventually pvp is stupid. They never once asked for cash, and never once ripped me off. They even got to the point they let me pick the dungeon and everyone would spec correctly if needed to help me get a wep or a shield or whatever. I know a lot of people who use them and have never heard of them ripping any of them off, and their prices were lower than the other trade spammers. So in the end, this might have stopped their trade spam, but ultimately it will just be replaced with more expensive trade spam.
It does NOT matter - if you can BUY gold for money then the gold is related to money - the are interlocked. The only reason it’s “ok” is if you are “buying” gold from them.
It’s irony along the lines of “we care about how pre-potting is costing the community” knowing full well they control the spawn rate of ALL of the herbs thus control the cost of pre-pots in the first place.
Except there’s a difference between “meaningful things happening” and blatant RMT spam
The amount of salty advertisers in this thread is legendary.
Ok, so you say… however, all my points align with Blizzards long set rules that they are in strict violation. SO I am right, based on that, and you are wrong.
Why don’t you just be honest and admit you got shafted by Gally out of gold also? Its completely obvious while you try to be a social activist for them lol… jeesh. It isnt decided by either of us, it is decided by Blizzard… and anyone running gold for this “company” has a chance on getting banned… and rightfully so BASED ON BLIZZARDS rules. Suck it up buttercup and move on… because you will not win this argument lol
I never ONCE trusted any of these “sell” groups even if they advertised gold, thank you for exposing them! Now please look at all the other advertisement services and other websites selling boosts.
That’s because you are not in a top guild. Let’s be honest here, if the guild is not doing RMT, the buyer probably did buy their gold with RM, because it’s way cheaper than wow tokens.
Others also do it via Twitch subscriptions.
I personally hate the boosting culture, I see no good for the game from doing this… I’m fine with carrying a friend in a raid, but total strangers for gold always felt like cheating to me.
Great job, Blizz! Keep it up!
That is a transaction that does not involve Blizzard, so they don’t have to clarify what they mean by “future transactions”, though for the sake of you and all the legitimate boosters I do wish they would clarify.
At the same time, this could be all the information needed. It could very well be a blanket don’t be involved in any way whatsoever with Gallywix or risk some form of punishment.
I can only guess that the scope was so large and/or the audit trail was deliberately made hard to trace that Blizzard took that action.
It’s like having a legitimate storefront to conduct illegal activity. Irl, law enforcement would probably shut the whole operation down.
You keep using the word they, and you don’t seem to understand what I’ve been saying at all.
GW was not a community of 3 admins and 20 odd members; this was a community of thousands. I ran many carries myself, whether with my guild or friends, and we’ve never spent a single gold we got on RLM. Pretending that the tens of thousands that contributed and made GW a successful community that did absolutely nothing wrong should be punished for the actions of a few, is dumb as hell.
You can keep going with your analogies and comparisons, but you clearly don’t understand the difference between the words ‘few’ and ‘many,’ so I see no need to continue the discussion, as no signs of intelligence life appear to be anywhere.
True, that store would be shut down. However, there’s a difference between closing a place, and shutting it down forever.
Many CEO’s and higher exec’s have been arrested at major companies, but not often is it said that anyone dealing with that company in the future will also face punishment.
Therefore your opinions are biased and irrelevant to my points… you supported the dealers, and the dealers got busted. If you get banned then I support that as well. You fed the machine, period.
I dunno about that. Remember Enron and Worldcom? The feds didn’t shut them down but for all intents and purposes they were sold off.
But I won’t, because I, like thousand of other GW members, did not receive or support any RM transactions.
And because you have neither the gear, nor likely the ability to even conduct a carry, your opinion is biased and irrelevant. Maybe try harder, you too could oneday conduct a perfectly legal carry, which all gold transactions are.
I mean yes, Enron and Worldcom did eventually shut down and liquidate, but was it because they lost the staff that were motivated to continue, or was it because the feds threatened sanctions against anyone who worked with them ever again?
I would be willing to bet that there were plenty of people that don’t conduct RM transactions that would have been willing to take of GW’s reins, but that’ll never happen now that “accounts may receive actions if they are found to be involved in future transactions with Gallywix or are actively advertising it.”
When the fraud was exposed, Worldcom and Enron weren’t going concerns anymore. They couldn’t raise capital. They were penny stocks. Only option left was to sell off the assets.
I wonder even if Gallywix continued to operate, would they have been able to make good on all their obligations? Usually when Blizzard permabans accounts, the gold is stuck forever in those accounts.
im pretty sure top guilds, teams and even pugs have been doing this since before discord was even thing. id love to know how much oil money went in to method over the years for boosts with no middle man to take a cut, from the time they hooked up with the dubai royals in mop!
sucks for all the legit guys and sucks for the people who made a bit of pocket money here in times such as these. however this is just the tip of the iceberg and instead of going for the top dogs you take out the little guys that are for the most part legit. yet again way to tackle the problem in the worst way, blizzard…
I know any mention of Asmongold is lightening rod stuff on the forums. But on the Asmongold TV channel on YouTube, there is a video of him interviewing the Galliwix managers. It’s a long interview with several people on the EU side of Galliwix on his stream. They have spreadsheets! That’s what you call a scoop.
Yes - sucks to break the rules
